I just received my iPad Pro 12.9 and connected it to my magic keyboard. Here are my feelings after 24 hour:

I Like:

The feel of the keys while typing. I like this keyboard even better than the keyboard on my 16” MacBook Pro (Even though they both use scissor switches, this keyboard feels different).

The trackpad. There are times when it comes in handy.

How strong the magnets are that hold the iPad to the keyboard.

Backlit keys!!!!!!

I do not like:

The external finish on the keyboard.

How “tippy” the keyboard is when the display is leaned back.

The fact that I cannot flip the keyboard around so that I can use the iPad flat while taking notes.

All in all, the magic keyboard is a keeper for me.

You've probably read that quite a lot of us have put skins on our MKs. I've had my Sopiguard skin on since June and I don't worry at all about fingerprints, scuffs or other marks. It's made a big difference. There are lots of MK (and iPad for that matter) skins in various iPad & accessory threads here.

The trick about using the iPad in a flat position for taking notes or drawing is while it's open to flip it around so the keyboard is straight up. Here's a video I made showing how to do it. It might look odd but it works. Also you can catch a glimpse of what the Sopiguard forged black carbon skin looks like.

I am returning my 11". Only negative is the top row of keys are too close to the bottom of the iPad.
I just prefer to use my iPad as a tablet with the apple folio case.
I have a 27" iMac for typing, for $499AUD here it's a big ask. If i ever went iPad only i would have one for sure, but still doesn't help when in tablet mode, would be a pain swapping cases all the time.

If I had bought my 12.9 magic keyboard directly from Apple I would have returned it. I can't get some of the gestures to work. Bringing up the App Switcher , dismissing slideover, switch between open apps- I just can't get them to work. As a result I am mainly using my MacBook Pro.

The technique I have found with gestures is they are not one movement. i.e. App switcher - 3 fingers up, try 3 fingers swipe up slightly but pause for a second and then continue to swipe up - 2 motions.

Same with slide over, move finger (pointer) to far right of screen pause for a second then do another swipe right (you can move your finger back to middle of track pad once pointer is far right). Dismissing slide over is the same 2 step gesture.

Ignore me if this has already been pointed out!!!

I may want to return my Magic Keyboard because I got the British English version, I want to change it to the US English version
I received my Magic Keyboard today for the 12.9 iPad Pro. It’s nice, but to be honest it doesn‘t scream premium to me and I really miss the function keys. I’ve also been using the iPad a lot with the regular external Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad up until now which has been a very nice experience. I do need a keyboard when I‘m out travelling to work however etc (once the lockdown is lifted) and so feel quite torn, so the new Magic Keyboard cast would would come in useful...

Another issue is that I have some imperfections around the palm rest of my Magic Keyboard case. Would any of you retrun it for this? See photOs below. The trouble is in the UK shipping dates have slipped until the end of May, so I would have to wait a long time for a replacement...

Not physically but digitally :) I returned it from my cart just before I ordered my iPad Air 4.
I thought the exterior was made from Leather but after reading reviews and luckily I did because I dislike the material they use. Too bad for me because I like everything else about it.

When I picked up my Air 4 from the store I had a look at the Magic keyboard and must say it looks great and works well. The exterior material looked like $heet especially when I looked at the bottom of the keyboard. So glad I didn’t order it.

You really need a skin or case..... To protect the case.

I’ve since replaced the British English version of the Magic Keyboard with the US English version of the Magic Keyboard on Thursday last week at the Apple Orchard Road Store in Singapore 🇸🇬

In my opinion the magic keyboard at £300-£350 is far too expensive for what it is, however I do really like it and will continue using it but the things I really hate are:

-Material is very poor for a such a premium priced product, I really hope they make it leather on the next gen (quite possible looking at the small price difference between the silicone and leather cases for the iPhone 12).

-Difficulty opening the case.

-It doesn’t fold back encouraging users to get the folio case as well for when you want to use the iPad as an iPad.

-Lack of feet in the underside of the keyboard, I think it would really benefit from this just to raise it slightly.
