Why do you keep putting the '@' in front of my name? Thats odd. I keep reading that as "At Sill". o_O

Sadly, its been so long since I made my original post that I no longer remember what project it was related to. Its probably just as well - I didn't want to get involved with anything Google. Since then I've noticed that all the Google stuff I'm blocking, from their bugs to their analytics to their domains, is causing growing problems in my browser. Simple slideshows - the favorite way of many forums like Macworld to display photo posts - no longer work.
Regardless of whether V8/nodeJS has a daemon or whatever, I think that another reason Google has put all this code in the field is to make sure that people can't block them without causing breakage. Once enough components get out in the wild and saturate all the services people use, it turns into a game of Whack-a-Mole to try to stop them without breaking the user experience.

It's a feature of the software, XenForo, that's used for MacRumors Forums. It is, amongst other things, to show (to other people who may be reading) that I'm addressing an individual.
