I havnt calibrated the 20" ACD... do you know if there are any precalibrated ICC profiles I can d/l??

I wish I knew of some. I've been playing with my calibration for weeks, tweaking little things here and there. I finally got my LCD perfect, but my CRT is not quite there yet.

I am pretty new to all this. Before I got my Mac and new monitors, I didn't even know monitors had to be calibrated. My previous setup just sucked that much.

If you have a 20" ACD calibrated and if you'd kindly hook me up with the ICC profile I'd madly appreciate it! :D

I'm no monitor calibration pro, but for those of you struggling with it, I recommend the Spyder2 Express or Pantone Huey Pro (for dual monitors), at least as a starting point. The Spyder made a huge difference for my LCD (which I initially thought was perfect out of the box). Both companies also sell more advanced ones.

Try naming a few monitor that has better color rendition/color accuracy/viewing angles that are better than the 23"/30" ACD at around its price. I doubt you'll name any as the "half price" monitors are the inferior TN panels that are just OK for general purpose use I suppose.

I do think that the 20" ACD are not as good as the 23"/30" ACD though seems like a totally different panel/backlighting (cheaper).

As a side note I've yet to see a better monitor than my 23" ACD, been through the dells 24"'s as well. I think probably the eizos are better than the 23" ACD, I've also heard that Apple uses the same circuitry/components/glass/backlighting that the Eizos uses.

Actually now that I look at it the 20" ACD has more of a bluish push to it, there's no pink.

game, set, match.

Lol, I'm sure you looked extra hard and long hours to scrounge up this monitor that you've never even really tested in real life nor a real good review of it and just because in spec with higher cd/m2, 1000:1 doesnt really mean anything. Same goes with the dell's I've tested which were higher in contrast + higher in brightness yet was still inferior in reality.

Everyone knows LG panels are used alot but as a whole monitor that LG sells.. I'd have to say they arnt very good, I would take up samsung any day before an LG monitor.

This is how it goes in quality of screens: Eizos>Apple Cinema>NEC>Dells>Others

And if your the type that will argue that dell and apple uses the same exact panel then here is something that will just answer your question to what a superior glass/circuitry/backlighting/chipset used as a whole to make process/run/power the panels as to just the panels being the same.

"Apple trumped the Dell in our DVD-playback test, displaying less digital noise and more-realistic skin tones, and it won the more technical rounds, with more-vivid colors and better grayscale differentiation."

And they both had the same LG panel.

But nope sorry there was never a game to begin with, nor was there ever a set, and ever will be a match.
