Do you have original earpods? If yes, how do the new ones sound compared to the old ones?

I personally have not noticed that much of a difference. Although, I'm waiting for the Airpods this October.

This... This thread is sarcasm, right? I honestly can't tell. I mean, Apple earpods aren't the absolute *worst* headphones on the market, but come on now.
They better then jaybirds and beats. I haven't tried any earphones over $100 though so my opinion might be invalid when it comes to earphones over 200

I had then a year ago. I'm not sure but these are great.

But I'm a fan of the origional ones so...I just hear a lot more background sounds then I heard in my other earphones

Clean bass
Sounds 3dish

I haven't noticed any difference compared to the old headphone jack EarPods. I've always felt they were solid for a free in-the-box accessory, but nothing for which I'd ever consider paying money.

I don't know why but they're just really comfy in my ear and that's why I've always used EarPods. I haven't used a pair of earphones that come close to the them, no matter what the sound quality is I just don't like IEM earphones.

For what it's worth I like the EarPods a lot better than the jaybirds too. I had them for a week. But the sound quality was just horrible to me.

I totally agree with you. I have earphones that cost as much as $300 and these new lightning EarPods sound truly incredible. They are the best earphones I have ever used. I think this just proves eliminating the headphone jack was the right decision on quality grounds as well as helping to advance technology. It's amazing we get them for free in the box.

I think either your old EarPods were defective, or you a serious case of the placebos, because the lightning EarPods sound the same as the old EarPods via the lightning adapter. They also don't come close to touching any decent headphones, so I'd be very curious as to what $300 headphones you're comparing them to. They're fine for a free accessory, but let's not get carried away.

Yes, I'm very impressed. I'm not an audiophile by any means and not only is my hearing not that good under normal circumstances, but I damaged my hearing over the weekend by being too close to a cannon when it was fired. However, in spite of all that I find the ear pods very good.

My only wish, and this from the very first ones, is that they put the controls further down on the cord where you can see it and not have to fumble and guess what you are doing.

I love them. They fit my ears while in-ear sets never have because one of my ear canals is very small and irregularly shaped. I also love the addition of the rubber seal on the EarPods, they're so sturdy and stuck whenever plugged in!

A collegue who works in our company's film sound department has them, basically says they are below average at best for sound quality. I'd also say he's probably the be all and end all in opinions on ANY sound related device. And yes, he's a Mac nut. So I'd call bollocks on your comment there. I'd say your $300 earphones might just be, hmm, possibly... Fake?

They're so ugly that it seems as though Apple is testing the waters to see how little effort they can put into design and still sell the product.

Sadly... The Devotees are proving they'll buy anything.

I'm sorry. What? Lol I mean better than Jaybirds?! Which ones exactly? What's tips did you use? Did you put them in your ear correctly? Just crazy that anyone would say EarPods are better than JayBirds in sound quality. MAYBE Beats I can somewhat believe you since they are wack.

Please if your are so impressed by EarPods headphones lol try out Shure se215. You're welcome.

Some comments here are a little mind boggling. Both old and new EarPods sound exactly the same. They fall off your ear when walking the same way. There is no difference at all. They are good for being free headphones but I wouldn't spend money on them... ever.

Everyone technical person on the site will confirm that Bluetooth audio transfer is inferior to a wired solution, even if it's a half a percent. So to say the Bluetooth setup is better quality is just pie in the sky fanboyism at its highest. Sorry Mr D. , you may love them to bits, but they ain't no better than what came before, and to suggest they are better than 300 dollar earphones is ludicrous...

I welcome the response from Mr D. , are your headphones fake, or would you admit to being the tiniest bit biased towards Apple stuff? :)

Apple's earpods sound way better than Beats, however, It's no comparison when you put them up against Bose, Sony, and Sennheiser.

Apple's headphones are best for the novice audiophile but when you put headphones to the test with people who like all of their audio in FLAC, AIFF, or WAV format (or good ol' vinyl) they will opt for studio quality and be happy to fork out $400+ on a pair of headphones. Let's be honest, the high price tag on the airpods is just for the wireless capabilities and the Apple logo.

If anyone says Beats are great, it just tells me immediately they have no experience with audio quality. Beats are a high priced fashion statement so kids can wear them around their neck in school to pretend like they have money, even though they don't even have a job and it took most of their parents Christmas money to afford them.
