I actually noticed the better sound quality right away when using them. They sound much better in my opinion. So I agree with you.

The sound quality seems the same to me...nothing near audiophile quality, but good enough to use. Only thing I've really found different is the sound output is noticeably lower with my 7 and Lightning earpods vs. my 6 and 3.5mm earpods. The new setup just doesn't get as loud as the old one did. I usually only wear headphones while doing yard work and now the music barely drowns out my weedeater and is no match for the riding mower. I can't be sure if its the phone, the headphones, or the combo, but either way it presents an issue if you're looking for volume.

Same here. Not sure if it's the lightening cable but the ones that came with my 7+ sound way better than my old ones on my 6+.

Well they are way better than the garbage ones that Samsung packages with some of their smartphones. :)

No way are they better than Jaybirds, just go read all the reviews for those which are mostly quite positive.

I had not tried them until read this thread. I think my Jaybird freedoms sound a lot better, especially after customizing the EQ in the Jaybird app. They don't sound bad, but I can't get as good of a sound out of them, even after trying all of the EQ presets on the phone. I carry them as backup in my bag though

I have earphones that cost as much as $300 and these new lightning EarPods sound truly incredible. They are the best earphones I have ever used.

You're either being sarcastic or got screwed pretty bad. The EarPods aren't complete garbage, but there are In-Ears in the 100-200$ range that completely and absolutely blow them out of the water, hands down. Not to mention nearly anything above 200 bucks.

Edit: Heck, even the lowly urBeats fare better when it comes to detail, clarity and soundstage.
