Anyone in the "2 to 3 weeks" get a shipping confirmaiton?

They are shipping straight from China & have to go through customs, so it doesn't really surprise me. Most deliveries have taken up to a week with some getting held up in Hong Kong alone for 4-5 days!
WOW, that's terrific news! I can hold out hope for mine now, still currently reads shipping April 1, arrive April 6 (Minnesota).
Hopefully good news for two-three week orders...
I placed my order for a white 32 Wi-Fi only iPad at 6:47 AM PST on 3/11 and it appears that my American Express card received a pending charge for the iPad today. I have not received the shipment notification yet from Apple, but I hope this is a good sign that it will be shipped this week. My original ship date from Apple was 4/1 with delivery by 4/8. I'm assuming that once a charge shows up that means it's just about ready to be shipped?

I think you are close for the 'prepare to ship' status. In reading all the other postings, Apple is shipping the early orders first. I think the late morning and early afternoon batches are next.
I ordered my on the 11th but at 9:15pm (PT) with a 2-3 week ship date (4/1). My Amex has a hold since last Saturday night but along with the Smart Cover. The Smart Cover charge hit last night with the iPdad still in a pre-authorization status. The Smart Cover arrival date is 6 days ahead of schedule.
Yep, I hope so. I'm pretty surprised that it's ready to go already. I was noticing people who ordered less than an hour ahead of me getting theirs shipped, but they were still in the 5-7 day range. My Smart Cover shipped less than 24 hours after I ordered and showed up on 3/16. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a 'Prepared to Shipped' notification any time now.
While I've kept my order that was placed late on March 11th, and shows that its shipping April 1st to be delivered April 6th, I periodically try other stores locally to see if they have the one I'm after...

The only luck I've had is going to the Apple store at 8am, where they hand out tickets for ones they got in stock the day before. Some people show up at 7am and get the tickets, and come back at 9am when they open up to sell them.
I have not yet seen or heard of them getting the White 64GB model in 3G or just WiFi, so not sure what kind of shipments they get each day. I'm sure that model is very rare right now.
I can't believe there is such an issue with making these fast enough.
UPDATE: My friend who was an original 2-3 week order, just got a confirmation that his shipped and will be here Monday. Thats promising.

I ordered the 64g 3G in black and figured the high price would slow down the demand. But as a friend of my pointed out, the iPad 1 was either 3G or wifi, so there are quite of few people upgrading and the 3G is the world standard. Plus, I can see business people who travel may want this as well.
Apple this time has 18 configs to deal with, someone has to predict what the sales for each model would be prior to production. I'm sure the factory is producing as fast as possible.
I can also imagine production planning for the next iPhone is in full swing for this summer's launch which will add further stress.
My order (2 Black 32GB AT&T iPads) just got prepared for shipment. Was ordered around 8PM PDT on March 11th.

Same here!!! Except I ordered 32GB White WiFi. I ordered at 4:19pm EST on Mar 11th and it changed over to prepared for shipment today at around 5:00pm EDT.
16GB White Wi-Fi+ 3G ordered 11am EST on 3/11...just flipped to "Prepared for Shipment" whoohoo! Was supposed to ship 4/1!
I ordered 25Mins after you so mine should be already for shipment
EDIT: Mine just went to prepared for shipment also.. as of 9pm PST

I'm pretty much in the exact same spot as you. I ordered at 7:20am PST on March 11 (64GB White ATT engraved) and it said Ships April 1 Delivered by April 8. I got the pending charge on my Amex today, but I haven't seen any update on my apple order status page, still says Not Yet Shipped.
My Smart Cover shipped out on the 18th and is in Hong Kong taking the Lantau Island layover for a few days.

I received my shipment notification overnight. Apple says delivery on 3/28 and FedEx says 3/29. Either way, I'm happy that it's getting here well before the original delivery date of 4/8! And this is for a white 32GB Wi-Fi that was ordered at 6:47 AM PST.
