The apple tracking site is useless, goto www.track-trace.com and use the tnt tracking there (it has to be international TNT tracking, not the UK tnt one) as other wise it wont show any other information.

It's possible that Kuehne and Nagel append the apple reference to create their own reference. You could try taking the first 10 digits of the reference after the 8 (ie 8xxxxxxxxx) and doing a search on TNT or Fedex... or www.apecode.com.
