Time to return this thread for only the 2nd time after i first did the mod.

after the 10.6.8 update my panel has stopped working. I think its an LG but will need double check. Never had any issue before now but it boots with off colours on the internal screen then displays nothing trying switchresx right now.

Any ideas on whats gone wrong anything with trying?

Ok couldnt get switchresx to get a working refresh rate. Just been trying powerstrip in windows and again unable to get a working rate.

I think i used the ATIinject.kext to get it to work before but it doesnt seem to work now.

Im thinking a reinstall back to snow leopard retail to test it is the update that breaks it..

Ok just got lion so gonna make a USB stick installer then make a test drive. see if it works in lion.

Update
Loin didnt work.. will try SL when i have time.

Sorry if it was already discussed, will it be possible to do same mod on a 13 inch mbp or even MBA? I have gorgeous LED Sony z display from vgn z that I would love to use in a MacBook

Well done OP, impressed with your mod. I have an old PB in storage, I might give it a try in the future.

My iSight wires are shorted - really?

Hi,
I pinned out a built in iSight from a Macbook abnd found the following info:

Pin 1 is the left most (has an chevron pointing to it). LVDS/iSight cable wire color in parenthesis.

Pin 1 (dark blue): connects to a pad on a 6 pin footprint for a chip that is not installed
Pin 2 (dark blue): connects to a pad on a 6 pin footprint for a chip that is not installed
Pin 3 (light blue, white conductor): USB D+
Pin 4 (light blue, purple conductor): USB D-
Pin 5/6 (orange): USB VCC (+5VDC)
Pin 7/8 (orange): USB GND

I canabalized a 2007 MacBook whose LCD had died, and pulled the iSight out of it. I clipped the cable from the isight so that I could attach a USB to it, but I am finding that the two oranges are shorted together. This doesn't make sense to me, since the iSight used to work. Is this a nature of how I clipped it? DO the orange wires have a a ground built into it that I'm shorting by my clipping? Thanks!

Henry

Is this doable on a 2007/08 Apple MacBook Pro A1278 Core 2 Duo?

Upgrade options for a 2007/08 Apple MacBook Pro A1278 Core 2 Duo?

What can I upgrade?

- I am thinking RAM and SSD?
.. What RAM SODIMM frequency would it accept? Non-Apple RAMs? Max Size?
.. Same question for SSD?

- If there are some hacks mods then do an LCD/ LED ?
..Any anyone has heard of?

Does anyone know if a panel like this would work on a macbook pro 2012 13"? I really want to upgrade the 1200x800 screen.
