The 5s is a solid phone, perhaps the best iPhone ever in terms of how well it has aged. iOS 9 will be the true test but preliminary reports are good. My mom has one and is very happy. Had I not wanted the 6 plus screen size (which I do consider enough of s perk to upgrade by the way) I would still be using the 5s

I love my 5s and have not decided if I will upgrade. Contract ends in November and depending on costs factors, that will probably make my decision.

The 5s in my opinion has been "one" of the best iPhones so far. Yes, battery life always needs improvement, but depending on specs on the 6s, is a big factor for upgrading.

There really is not a reason to upgrade from a 5s to a 6 or 6s, UNLESS there is killer specs that are different from the current 5s.

UPGRADE IF:
1. Battery life is better than 10% (probably not)
2. RAM (2 gigs) and Processor is better. (Maybe, but probably no..)
3. Default storage increases to 32 gigs (NO - Philip Schiller was quoted to say that (summary) "No need for more than 16gigs, have iCloud if you need more..":apple: So probably not until at least the 7s after he retires.

So with probably "no's" on all three this time around, may keep my 5s and wait until the 7s.

Agree.

My 5S works perfectly well, and I'm very happy with it.
My opinion is that the 5S and 4S have been the two best iPhones produced.

I dislike the 6 series design, particularly the antenna lines and the non-flush camera lens.
And it appears these won't be changed for the 6S.
So even though there is likely to be a RAM increase, and CPU/graphics speed increase, as usual, and some Force Touch thing.. I am currently planning on sticking with my 5S for another year.
Plus, I do like the overall small size of the 5S.. a bigger screen would be nice, but still within the overall device size of the 5S. I just find the 6 too big a device for me. Perhaps the 7 will have a 4.7" display, but in a smaller overall device size. With nicer styling too!

But of course I'll be eagerly watching the keynote next week, in case there is something unexpected and awesome!

Has anyone decided to keep their 5s another year, and wait for iPhone 7 instead?
I normally would fully endorse going 7, being on the winning side of the tick-tock cycle, and letting the S cycle folk convince themselves that being first to get marginal camera bumps is the way to go. But in this case, I think you already know what you want to do. And I can't really imagine being stuck on that tiny screen an entire year longer than necessary. Eff that noise.
