Anyone leave to go to the Storm??

If I was going to leave the iPhone for a Blackberry I would go for the Bold, not the Storm.

I agree, I played with the storm, and it is a pain to navigate. The Bold is a nice phone, probably would be my second choice behind the iPhone. The screen resolution is just amazing on it, too bad there is no easy application to put videos on it. You have set around a manually convert movies instead of getting them from iTunes...what a pain. If BB had it's own iTunes like store with music, shows, and movies, I might really consider it. It actually felt lighter than the iPhone too.

I'm with you on that, BB needs to come up with something, anything, soon, or else it could be gonzo from the top two spots, or at least from a close second behind Apple (which has 1 PHONE. That's what I find amazing, Apple outsold Research in Motion with 1 PHONE. HAHA, I pity the fool who likes BlackBerry.

@OP: there are other forums dedicated to comparing phones. I would ask in those places.

Apparently no one here understands the phrase "left to go to a Storm". Not looked at or played with.

Sigh.

Perhaps you are confused as to which forum you are currently posting. To expect anti Apple sentiment in an Apple forum is indicative of naivety or confusion.

Yeah that N97 looks great. I love my iphone for all it does except the actual phone part. I have 5 3g bars and still cannot connect sometimes. I am torn on staying with the iphone or leaving it and AT&T all together. I have played with the storm and the samsung omnia and a few others and the damn iphone is the best phone out now and nothing comes close for internet and music. But my at&t service sucks.

I was a Verizon customer for years and have been sitting on my NE2 discount since July waiting for the release of the Storm. Like many other people, I sat in line the morning of the release and was one of the few that got number at the store that guaranteed me a Storm. As I waited for my number to be called to activate my phone, I had a chance to play with the display model. I'm so glad I did because I realized how big of a piece isht the Storm is. Lag is horrible, the OS is slow, and the overall user experience is lackluster and frustrating. I gave my number to another person who was waiting around. Needless to say, I left Verizon and went next door to AT&T and got myself the iPhone. I paid my cancellation fee with Verizon and have never looked back. I'm in CT and the 3G service here is fabulous. I have not had a single dropped call and get even better coverage with AT&T than I had with Verizon. I haven't looked back since switching.

Just my $0.02.

Why does this story sound like bull ****? Just saying......

Not here. That's why I suggested that the OP go elsewhere for honest comparisons.

However, we should expect some minimal reading comprehension skills.

The OP didn't ask what people thought of another phone. That's been done to death. The OP asked for experiences after actually switching to the other phone.

I'd like to hear those stories, pro or con. Someone saying "well, I wouldn't switch" or "I played with it for ten minutes and hated it", doesn't answer the question.

Nah, im in the UK and the Storm is exclusive to Vodafone, i think the base package is around £40 a month, sorry but im not paying that when i can have an iphone for £35 a month.

I love how the majority of new smartphones are trying to copy iphone's features like landscape mode, touch screen etc.

I saw on the news where there is (or was recently) an update for the Storm. Does this make any real difference in people's opinions?

Both touch and landscape mode have been around for many years on phones. Millions of them, in dozens of models.

Now, if you meant auto-rotation, that was indeed previously confined mostly to digital cameras.

my cousin's GF bought the Storm and they kept it for less than a week before returning it. He owns an iPhone and she just said the Storm is not "intuitive" like the iPhone and its very slow. She just felt it was not as "fun" as the iPhone and just did not like it.

I've been in a few VZW stores and their Storm display models NEVER work. What is up with that? They are either frozen or they are just "clocking". Either too many people are messing with them where the thing just gives up or the Storm is not very well made.

I was a 14 year customer with Verizon and just switched to ATT. Service wise they are the same now. Ask me that last year ATT had the worst service ever. They are catching up fast. I get 3G everywhere I go. Before 2.2 mine would switch to E but now I do not see it ever going to E. I'm happy now.

I did not leave to go to the Storm, I just got one. I have VZ for phone reception and iPhone for MobileMe. And to sweeten the pot, I also got a Bold. I like all 3 phones and would hate to choose just one, each have different uses.
