I got them to throw in an octo-core Mac Pro with my iPod shuffle purchase. Not bad, I guess.

I didn't get a thing. I bought a MacBook Pro 15" 2.66ghz with 320gb HD and an iPhone 3GS 32GB. I also bought a sleeve for the MBP and a case for the iPhone. I didn't get anything extra.

Don't expect anything if you order online from the Apple store. I just ordered the i7 iMac with a remote online, and there was no mention of any swag thrown in.

I keep buying those :apple: stickers and they keep giving stuff to me for free. So far I have gotten a MacBook, three iPods, Aperture, iWork, Snow Leopard, .Mac and probably a few other things. Apple is sooooo generous. :)

Higher education discount is 15% on computers and 11% on anything else Apple in the UK.

Spent thousands in my local store and only ever got that apart from iWorks 09 for free. :):)

When I bought my dual-500 G4 like 10 years ago they sent me a really nice Apple Fleece a few weeks later. :D

I got a free headache. I find Apple's stores an absolute pain. It's like trying to shop in a busy internet cafe.

When I bought my iMac earlier this year the Apple Store here in NYC gave me an exclusive patented transportation assistance device which enabled ease of transitioning the computer to my residence.

I got this really cool itemized list, complete with the cost and tax of my purcahse. The paper it was printed on was fantastic. So soft. This itemized list even allowed me to bring my purchase back to the store to get the full amount of my purchase back from the company. They even put it in the bag!

If you want something free or discounted, you'd likely have better luck at Best Buy.

In order to make the buyer opt into Apple Care, they sometimes are willing to discount something in order to get you buy a protection plan with the computer.

I managed to get a brand new 20" iMac INSTEAD of a refurb (not a free iMac...before you get too excited!) and a free set of Harman Kardon Soundsticks out of Apple UK after several days of to'ing and fro'ing over the phone :)
