Well, I bought one because I prefer to set in my dads easy chair (which pisses him off but he works a really long work day so what daddy don't know down hurt him :D) and prop my legs up. Definitively my Achilles heal.

The only problem with the couch is that my lap gets hot and the computer is pretty big to be sitting there the whole time.

Isn't there a banner that advertises a cooling pad on the macrumors site every now and then? Do you have SMC fan control?

I don't have a desk except for my help desk duties. I'm constantly going from client to client or working in a server room or another person's office or simply my couch at home. It's a matter of convenience to be able to work on the same system wherever I go.

That and it just looks damn sexy.

I'm stuck on the portability. It's hugely important to me. I bought my MPB in 2007 for the purpose of gaming (it's GREAT) and to do video editing work (awesome!). I just got Final Cut Studio and cannot wait to work with it. From my couch, of course. :D

I like to be able to take my games and my work with me... though I admit spending more time on my gaming, these days. Have a couple weeks off from work, so have more time to play!

I'm ashamed that I feel lost without my MBP. I was at Electronic Arts working on the Beta Build for Sims 3 last year (doing some video work for the launch of the official site and beta testing a few features), and we used desktops (PC) for that. After going back to the hotel and socializing a bit, I'd go to my room and fire up my game.

I spent much of the last two years traveling both in the states and internationally, so my MBP has literally been around the world.

Twu wuv...

I don't like to stay on my desk, especially when i don't do anything professional that requires a lot of power, and that is just 10% of my time
Having a variety of places to just browse and do the usual stuff is great

haha yeah, i do some of my best thinking while i am mountain biking and snow boarding, i have a decent jobs that extremely hands on and i am on my feet all day building things and talking to people but its just not the same as sitting in a park and just focusing =D haha made high school hell >_<
