What device do you have, and why are you not planning on upgrading?

I am thinking of buying an SE 2020 and just sticking with that for at least a year or so.. cheap, affordable and does the job.

I’m one the 10s and thinking about staying. I like the size compared to the 11. Otherwise I’d upgrade. If they added Touch ID under the glass (In addition to faceID) I’d probably upgrade

I really like the XR I bought last year, and can't see upgrading until the wheels fall off this one. I'll drool over everyone else's new phone pics, but stay happy with mine.

It depends on how poorly iOS 14 does on my device (2016 iPhone SE). If I think it's too laggy, I will either buy the smallest iPhone 12 (if the reviews are positive) or get the 2019 iPhone SE. I'm not a fan of face ID, but I like/prefer the rumored squared-off edges of the iPhone 12.

I have a launch day 11 Pro, upgraded from a 7 from Jan 2017. I held off because of the "new" problems with the X/s devices.
I don't want to have to upgrade, but the back of this phone is so ugly comparing to the X/s... If the new ones look heaps better and with the likely blue colour it may win me over

Bought an iPhone 8 Plus earlier this year before the CoV crisis to replace the 6s Plus.
It's still relatively new with AppleCare, still have ~100% battery life and fine for my needs so don't need a newer iPhone.
Should last another 2-4 yrs. or so, enough time for the next iPhone generations.

I have an iPhone SE, the original one. I have no intention of upgrading. If my current iPhone broke, I'd buy exactly the same thing to replace it.

It's more than good enough, and it's the best size anyone has made in a long time. There is not a single thing about any new iPhone that's even remotely interesting.

I'm waiting to see exactly what the 12 has to offer. My XS is running fine, battery health at 85% and still easily getting me through a day. One thing that may get me to upgrade regardless is the bigger screen. I wanted the XS Max, but at the time I couldn't afford the extra funds. I may look at the 11 Pro Max if the 12 is out of reach cost wise, or just go a bit longer with the XS.

I'm really on the fence.

As far as iPhone goes, I have a XS that still has 93% battery life so I don't really need a new phone, however, if I had known Apple might come out with the iPhone 12 that has a 5.4" screen and flat edges a year ago when I bought my XS I would have waited another year. I was coming from a 2016 SE that was starting to show its age.

For desktops, I have a 5 year old iMac that still works fine but the jury is still out on whether or not I'll be able to run macOS Big Sur, if I can then my current iMac is fine but if I can't then I need a new iMac worse than a new phone right now. I'll probably still wait until the transition to Apple Silicone but that should be early next year.

Other devices are a couple years old but still performing fine so I'll hold off on the reset probably at least another year.

I’ve got a 11 pro max and I’ll be upgrading because I upgrade every year.

I'm not. I've just lost all excitement for new phones this year. I'll continue using my XS Max and my Note 10+ another year. XS Max battery health is 93% after almost two years.

I doubt it. I have an 11 Pro Max and outside of the squared off edges I don't think there are going to be any major improvements here.

Sigh, I'll probably buy it....

Bought an iPhone 11 Pro Max 512gb shortly after launch last year and I love this phone. Aside from the iPhone 4, it's probably the most solid iPhone yet in terms of battery life, cameras, display (the phone is a bit too large for one-handed use, but after having the display for almost a year, tough to go back). The iPhone 12 Pro will only tempt me if there are a lot of filmmaker apps that use the LiDAR AND if the video functionality is loads better (such as having Portrait mode in 4K video, for instance).

Appears like that many iPhone users are satisfied with their current models that they use so won't be upgrading unless the iPhone 12 models have something that really entices them to upgrade.
If their current models meet their needs, then that's OK!

I already upgraded to Pro Max this past winter/spring. Probably get the 13 Spring 2022. I’m usually every 2 years and expect to stay in that routine. I have never got the newest release when it first comes out. Just bought AW S5 2 weeks ago.

I have a XSmax. Battery health 88% (feels worse). Connectivity is poor (unless coincidentally WiFi is bad every single place I go). Seriously the worst iPhone on WiFi I’ve ever had. Sometimes it is janky on LTE. I will almost certainly get a new one for better connectivity.

I definitely noticed that as well on my XS Max. That’s why I’m hoping the Qualcomm modem come back to Apple and this year’s iPhones are able to handle connectivity better.

Just got an iPhone 11 Pro about 2-3 weeks ago. Skipping this year and hopefully next year too. Will enjoy the alleged/virtually confirmed last 5.8” phone a bit longer.

But you did some configuration somewhere? I'm new on iPhone, with a SE2 and really this theme bothers me quiet a lot since people talk too much it's a tiny battery and I'm asking how did people with the 6-8 all this years!

I have NO IDEA. And I use it every day and charge it every night. Of course the Battery Health % could be wrong. But Coconut Battery agrees with it.

Well I’m buying at least two depending 5g bands supported on all four models, good trade in deals etc. I upgrade every year usually more than 1 new iPhone except last year I only got the iPhone Pro Max. I love it but I love buying new iPhones more.

I'm on a Xs Max and will be upgrading to the Pro/Pro Max this year as I am out of contract and the phone has taken a beating over the last year or so.
