Unfortunately I see same crap on my 16 Pro as with 15 Pro. After 12 mintues of SOT I've lost 5%. Can you believe it? I deleted AirTags and then add them again because my phone is draining 6-7% per night. Maybe this process took so much battery.
You may say "try clean install". Well I tried 3-4 times with 15 Pro and nothing. It fixed problem just for few days. I think iOS 17/18 needs much more power and Apple doesn't care about it. I thought that it will be much better with 16 Pro but it looks like it is not. And as someone said. This whole "indexing" thing is a myth. Yes first few hours but after 2 days? No way.
Unless new system has to learn battery but...can you imagine EV car with problems like this. Exactly.

I will give it few more days and if nothing helps I will try hard reset. Sometimes it helps a bit.

Not great here at all. Charging to 90% overnight, general use, nothing crazy, and down 15% in just a couple hours. Coming from a shot battery on a 14 Pro Max, behaves oddly similar.

The battery on my 16 Pro seems to be fine during the day. It does seems to drop a lot overnight though. Last night for example, it was at 47% and I woke up to 28% this morning. I expect some drop overnight but I wouldn’t expect ~20%.

Not Pro Max but 16 Pro here, and noticed that somehow Flashlight was running like crazy in background. (Idk why, it was obviously turned off).

Give it a few days, the phone is probably still setting things up in the background
This the intersection of ignorance and propaganda. This was true about a decade ago.

Anyone who reads this type of crap, don’t believe it. The battery depletion and inefficiency is real.

I'm in the new-phone-paranoia phase with the battery.

My base 16 seems to be doing OK though. Unplugged it this morning at 7. A little while ago it was still at 88 percent, although I haven't used it much today - mainly just listening to music at the gym and in the car. It's only cycled once so far since getting it Friday.

My SE on the other hand, is down around 50 percent after no use today and also unplugging it at 7 this morning. Of course, it's three years old and the battery capacity is at 84. Battery definitely seems to be draining more since upgrading to 18 on it. Won't be a problem after tomorrow when I wipe it and send it back in the trade-in kit.

Got rid of that flashlight process running in background but now Photos seems to be even worse…:rolleyes:😂

I am a bit disappointed in the 16 Pro battery to be honest. My 13 Pro with a 79% battery health doesn’t last much less in daily use if I play any games on the phone.

I’d say if you have a large library that’s not unusual. Does that align with plug in or battery use
That’s strange because it’s mostly happening during the night when it’s charging.. I don’t have a large library and also the indexing is already done since a few days.

How did I go from 50% going to bed and woke up at with a dead battery????? No apps are anything running overnight. Have the 16 Pro Max since launch day.

The same thing happened to me. After checking it was iCloud backup and Norton 360. Turn both off temporary and then phone runs fine.
