I can imagine!I went from a 2008 Aluminum MacBook to my 13" M1 MBP. I will say it was best decision ever.
What features or connectivity are you looking for?I can imagine!

I owned a 2016 non-TB MBP, but got rid of it in 2019. I currently have an M1 Air, and a 14" M1 Pro. They are both amazing in comparison to the 2016.That's my current machine. Think I might need to replace it. What did you go for and how was it?
I am not familiar with the 2015 MacBook Pro's overall connectivity. However, I will suggest you do look at the M2 13" MacBook Pro. The Air is passively cooled and currently suffers from throttling under certain workloads.
We know the M2 is a hotter chip than the M1 due to the power graphs, so this has to be taken into account. As per weight and size, the 13" is quite similar, a tad heavier if anything.
You won't suffer flexgate or butterfly-gate here as those are either resolved issues or regressed to the old key mechanism.
The old design has nothing wrong with it. In fact I'd day it's tried and tested thoroughly. As per MagSafe that's one bummer. The High-Impedance jack and Speakers I would say are specific cases or moot points if you use AirPods.Minor correction, sorry, it's the 2016 model I have.
Yeah that's the thing, M1 fanless seems OK. Watched a few videos comparing it to the M1 13" Pro and the sustained performance wasn't that far off. M2 with its higher wattage will run hotter. Obviously it will be still be very fast, but I wouldn't feel happy knowing it was having to throttle.
But the M2 Pro has the old design, no upgraded webcam, no upgraded speakers, no magsafe, no high-impedence jack, plus it has the touchbar which I don't like.
So perhaps I'll wait out till next year.

As per Touch Bar, it's an acquired taste.
Understandable. Me personally, I dislike the new design. I feel it's a return to an era long gone instead of a new leap in design.Nothing wrong with the old design except for that I have the same design and the new design is, well, newer lol. It's exciting to get something with a new design right? And besides, I like it.
I don't use airpods (or other TWS headphones for that matter) all of time lol so the speaker and jack upgrade will be welcome.
