The BIGGER question should be...

When the exclusivity contract runs out, and more carriers get the iPhone, would you leave AT&T for another carrier?

How many out there are holding out on iPhones because they don't want AT&T?

That would be me.

I have T-Mo currently and have been fairly happy with them. I'd like it if Verizon started carrying the iPhone, though...I'd really think about switching then...

I'll stick with AT&T... I have perfect service at work and at home, and almost everywhere else. I live in Southern California.

I only get 1 bar in my house on the 3G network...if AT&T doesn't fix this major problem...

It's a major problem for you, yes, but I wouldn't hold my breath for them to rush out and fix it...

I am. I have the money set aside for an iPhone, but can't justify it because ATT sucks so bad.

The worst part is the im-not-worried-about-you attitude ATT has. (work phone is ATT)
They have the iPhone on lock down and a ton of people have switched to them, why would they bother with customer service or upgrading their network so i doesn't completley suck balls. FU ATT...

Verizon gets an iPhone and i leave Sprint that day.....

I was just about the last person on Earth to get a cell phone back in 2005, and chose a Go phone Razr from AT&T (then Cingular), so I've always had AT&T and can't make a comparison. I know plenty of people who switched for the iPhone, and I do hear them complain, but I think the benefit of having the phone outweighs dealing with AT&T's BS.

But, definitely, I would not have them if it weren't for the iPhone. When switching my account over from Go Phone to iPhone back in October '08, they royally screwed it up in ways I can't even describe, and to this day my autopay STILL doesn't work, despite the fact that I call them every month and re-enter my info and it's always said on the website that I'm enrolled and it's active, but EVERY month it fails. And I get tons of "Could not activate cellular data network" errors and have to restart my phone 1-2 times a day.

Yeah they suck. But I've never had any other wireless carrier, so I don't know.

Add one to the tally
I am waiting for the day I can have the best of both worlds, Great service on verizon and an outstanding phone

I switched from Verizon to AT&T for the iPhone, and honestly the service is about the same in my area. No Complaints, and the iPhone is awesome

Although I had T-Mobile for years (in both US and Germany) I finally switched to AT&T mostly because T-Mo is too slow in their 3G rollout. I have a better signal with AT&T in my current location anyway. It really varies depending on where I go of course.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5G77 Safari/525.20)

Oh, I've been there. I got overcharged tons of times and had to call to resolve the issue. It wasn't fun. I left to t-mobile and never looked back until all my family member moved to att and left me no choice. Now I'm back on att, can't wait for overage fees. Yay!

Verizon beats ATT in Az...

I appreciate all those folks who answered this survey by disclosing where they live/use their service. I think that determines the relevance of the answer or opinion more than anything.

Like some other's mentioned, in Arizona ATT blows.
We had Verizon for 10 years and switched to ATT when our last 2yr contract came due, for the opportunity to get the iPhone. We still plan to do that this summer when the next gen comes out, but there is no comparison between the quality of the calls and the frequency of drops -- Verizon was significantly better. So, in retrospect, ATT was brilliant to take the huge control/financial hit in order to contract exclusively with Apple.

Someone earlier mentioned that Verizon is horrible about crippling their phones. I'd forgotten how much that ticked me off :p It was one of the reasons we were willing to try ATT (even though we'd heard from so many people in town that had negative experiences w/ ATT).

In sum, with the Palm Pre going to (even suckier) Sprint and the Android phones going exclusively to (equally suckier) T-Mobile (again, just speaking in Az) we will probably remain with ATT and lock in for 2 years when the next gen iPhone comes out this summer. That should put us right in line to take advantage of a mature (debugged) 4G service in 2011... once again, reassessing with Verizon or ATT probably.

I switched from T-mobile to AT&T to get the iPhone last month. I've always had 5 bars with both services, so I never noticed any difference.

And for anyone who thinks iPhone is coming to Verizon, you're probably gonna wait an eternity because that will NEVER happen.

Apple first went to Verizon for the iPhone and Verizon turned them down (F****** IDIOTS)

Then they made their way over to AT&T and they received full ownership of the iPhone (GENIUSES!!)

Btw, iPhone is a GSM and most likely won't ever be CDMA, which Verizon uses.

So you're never gonna be able to get the iPhone unless you switch to AT&T or T-mobile.

I've heard complaints that Verizon has no bars at a lot of places where AT&T has full bars, too.:p
