Any chance the RAM gets upgraded on the iPhone 6S? Has Apple ever upgraded the RAM on an 'S' model?

I would give it a shot at least. If I find it limiting, I'll just return it or sell it.

iPhone 3G (128 MB) to 3Gs (256 MB), but it's hard to really count that, considering original iPhone and iPhone 3G were essentially the same phone.

I'm not going to skip just for that reason, but I'm surprised they didn't upgrade the RAM. There are clear limitations with 1GB on my current iPhone.

I think phone wise it's fine. The problem is in the iPad with its 2048x1536 resolution and generally speaking, the tasks are more intensive there

It will run iOS 8 fine. By the time iOS 10 comes around it will run like iOS 7 on an iPhone 4. Forcing people to upgrade.

3G was really just iPhone 2007 (with GPS and wcdma/umts (3G chip) and plastic back.

iPhone 3g (2008) =iPhone 2007 same processor. Same ram. Same camera.

I skipping because I don't want a big screen. I'll stick with the 5S as long as I can and hope Apple comes to its' senses.

I think it's great that they are building larger phones for people who want them but there a still a lot of people that don't want them.

Still having a 4S and never having had a 5 or a 5S/5C, I'm getting a 6 no matter what.

No. As long as it works well, that's all that matters. The amount of RAM seems to matter to some forum users but not me and not most "regular" people.

No way, I'm ready for my new phone. Even though I don't need it, I just spoiled myself every year with a brand new iphone. It's my early Christmas present.

It wasn't that long ago that my desktop computer had 256MB of RAM and I was entirely excited about it.

1GB is fine.

Not skipping because of the 1gb but because I'm not eligible for an upgrade through my carrier at the subsidize price. I'm waiting until next year and then both my wife and I will get the iPhone 6(S). Hopefully by then the iPhone will have 2gb of memory.
