Santa's bringing me an iPad Air2 for Christmas, and it's going to be 128GB. If Apple made a 256GB I'd buy that, but they don't. My iPad Air is 128GB and there is 14GB free on it. More storage is better.

I still don't know if I'll take the Pro when I travel. I don't like to carry a lot of weight. But if I do take it, I might want to load up some movies, since in my experience I never get enough bandwidth for streaming video in hotels. OTOH, I read a lot more than I watch movies, and ebooks take up no memory to speak of. But just in case, 32 GB seemed too small for me.

Congratulations. Santa is bringing me one too, and it will be WiFi + LTE. I will be putting it on my AT&T unlimited data plan and be in 7th heaven!

I have the 32GB and am really happy with it. I don't really do a whole lot with it except note taking for school, typing up essays, etc. I am not a huge app user so 32 works great for me.

What kind of stuff fills up all the space? Just curious.

I'm sticking with it. My primary device is my iPhone which has 64 GB, although I currently only using 27 GB. I have my music library on my phone though which I won't need on my iPad since I have Apple Music. I also won't need to store as many apps or videos on it regularly since it will mostly be used at home where I have access to everything. I would rather use that money to pay for next years iPhone.

How are you finding the note taking?

I have about 20gb of music, but it's the video that really takes up the space. The entire Dr Katz: Professional Therapist series, the entire Babylon 5 series, a few other movies, and suddenly I'm running low on space. Also I have a large photo and home video library on my iPad. It is my primary computing device. I use my MBP as little as possible.

If the iPad had a finder app with file system access and a mini USB port I probably wouldn't need my MBP at all.

I could probably get by with 32, there is nothing really to store except for a few rare music files that are not on AM or Spotify. All video is streamed like Netflix or via upnp.

The big issue between the 128 and 32 is storage performance. But of course if you are not storing anything this is a moot point.

have a 32GB and love it, any extra media that wont fit is running fine off a wireless flash drive.

I bought a 32GB yesterday, partly because that was all that was in stock but partly because I think it is enough for me.

Each time I upgrade I have bought the smallest capacity iPad and the largest capacity iPhone. It is always the phone that is full!

When I bought my iPad Air 2, I finally decided to go for the 64GB because 16GB was becoming a bit small. I have enjoyed having the extra capacity, but I only use it when I am travelling and load HD films on there. Otherwise it is always below well below 16GB used.

I doubt I'll be using the Pro too much for travel anyway and even if I do, the 32GB gives me enough room for 3-4 HD films without clearing down anything at all.

The only downside that I can see is if I keep it for two years the resale value might be hit if a lot of people automatically think of the 32GB as unusable for them. I guess this will be quite a small difference anyway, so nothing to worry about.

I do agree with earlier posts that the lower end iPad Pro should be 64GB, but I suppose that would have taken too many sales from the 128GB.

32GB is too small for me so I got the 128GB. But with the size of the iPad pro I don't think I will bring it out, so I will keep my Air 2 LTE for that purpose.

I don't know how anyone could use 32. Its honestly confusing that the option even exists. My phone is full and I am not even a huge user. Apps, photos, and music/videos alone fill it way too quick.

If you can live with Android, check out the Samsung Note Pro 12.2. Has pencil (built-in), very fast, brilliant screen and can do everything and anything the iPP can do, and even more. I bought it about a year ago as a laptop replacement for a 13" Macbook Air. It worked as a replacement for a while. But then I felt I really did need a laptop and got an 11" MBA, and now the retina Macbook. Believe me when I say the lustre of a tablet as a "laptop replacement" wears off. Now my Samsung Note Pro 12.2 mostly sits in a charger and is sometimes used to view TV, movies etc when my laptop is charging. I'm sure owners of the iPP will eventually feel the same way and go back to a REAL keyboard and screen.
