No way that they will go back to tiny screens again. No possible way.
So do you expect Apple to make a larger phone than than the Plus? Or are they just going to freeze the screen sizes forever?

The reality is, come November Apple will be making and selling 3 sizes of iPads -- S/M/L, and technically the iPod Touch qualifies as an iPad XS. only missing the cellular option. So why wouldn't Apple offer a 3rd smaller iPhone in the portable/mobile category to address everyone's needs, if they're going to the expense to offer it for the iPad? They also offer 3 sizes of MacBooks, 11", 13" & 15". Would you say there will never be a larger or smaller Watch offered alongside the core two?

"No possible way" seems counter to what they're already offering with their other mobile/portable products, and particularly limiting to a company that said they would never make a 7" tablet, because they'd have to sell snapper with it to file down your fingertips to use it. Or a company that said they'd never make a 5.5" phone, because you couldn't use it with one hand.

Apple's addressing a particular market segment right now, and I think offering larger phones, not only to expand market share, but also in order to drive adoption of the Watch which is the perfect companion to huge phones you don't always want to pull out of your bag or pocket to use, or even hold. And as hopeful as I was that Apple would introduce a smaller "C" model in the 6 lineup, it makes far more sense to introduce such a model with the next major redesign, where it can be planned as part of the lineup.

I expect the bezels to eventually shrink, perhaps disappear almost entirely someday, and for Apple to go with bigger screen sizes than they have now in the same or smaller sized form factors.

Keep on wishing, you never know but I am betting the 5S will be as small as they offer and even that for only a limited amount of time.

You're arguing that these are core functions for a smart phone? I can't tell if you're joking or not...

I don't understand your reasoning. Not to get too nosey, but you own a 2013 Macbook Pro - a computer that is slower than the 2014, and the 2015 Macbook Pros... it still gets the work done for you, though -- so obviously it seems unreasonable to update the laptop every single year. I think the same principle applies to phones:

For some reason, there's a cultural acceptance to upgrading phones every year just because Apple releases a new phone every year. Yet, this doesn't apply to their laptops. Why not, though? They're both computers.

Also, another thing, is your Macbook Pro a 13 inch? Even if it isn't, there's no arguing against the fact that the 13 inch Macbook Pro is more popular with consumers than the 15 inch. But why? People argue they don't want a "large computer to carry around" when working... yet the opposite logic applies for phones.

As a conscious consumer, these are the things that I pay attention to and think about A LOT. Apple releasing a new phone every year =/= I must upgrade every year.

Alternatively, notice how Apple's 15 inch Macbook Pro is just as popular as the 13 inch? Less popular, but it's definitely successful enough to not be phased out like the 17 inch. Well, this should suggest that if Apple started releasing flagship phones in two available sizes: one that caters to their "small, nimble, intricate, minimal, and sleek" pocket computers philosophy. And then another that caters to the "bigger is better, more real estate, slightly better specs with size increase, Samsung competition" philosophy then you'd see that people would definitely opt for both equally.

But there's no way to say for sure that "people have just moved on and want bigger phones"... it's simply not possible because (duh) Apple doesn't even offer consumers multiple sizes for their flagship phones... I'm hoping they do next year.

Since you aren't be nosy, lets me tell you what my 2 yr old laptop is for. Photo/video storage, watching Hulu/Netflix, and paying bills.
I literally don't use my laptop for much other then the. So when I bought my laptop in 2013, the main thing I was looking for was storage, and I bought the only MacBook with decent storage. Since Apple is switching to the very expensive SSDs I am lost for my next upgrade unless prices come down. It will probably be a Windows computer for storage.

And yes. Like it not, the stuff I listed are core functions of a smart phone, in particular the iphone6s.

Had a 5s and loved the small size, never imagining myself going any larger.

Got a Note 4 on a great deal though and sort of became semi-comfortable with phablets.

Eventually got tired of not being able to use a phone 1-handed so I got a 6s yesterday which now, thanks to using such a large device the last few months, feels ultra-compact and just as 'small' as my 5s used to feel to me.

I tried sticking with 5s for the longest time I can cuz honestly, I can't find fault in 5s and I really love it. But after my 5s' battery puffed up bending my screen (I have no idea how that happened) I went online to Apple store (don't trust 2nd hand nor their so called mint condition) they were out. I had no choice but to switch to 6s. Thank goodness 6s is good (so far) I would totally stick to 5s if I can find it at a trust-able source
