Going from the 6 to 6S Plus.

Part of me sort of regrets not trying it last year. Another part of me is afraid of not being able to get used to a smaller size in the future if it's too unwieldy. Hopefully the iPhone 7 is a nice balance between the two.

I am excited about the nicer screen and better battery life though. The difference in size is sort of like having a new form factor on the S cycle as well.
For the most part I love the 6+ (Came from the 6 after 11 months). The screen and battery outweigh the Size for me. My fiancé has a 6 and whenever I hold it there is NO way I could go back.

Suggestion for PLUS newbies. If you can reach everything on a regular 6 you should be ok with a plus. I can type one handed (slowly) and navigate one handed. The iPhone leather (or silicone I assume too) helps a TON. The grip is great and the embossed Apple is perfect for your index finger to keep it balanced.

Space gray 6 Plus to a rose gold 6S. Have enjoyed the Plus for the past year, but ready for something a bit more portable and easier to slip in and out of pockets and take on runs.

Does it feel uncomfortably big in an armband when you go running?

anyone switching from plus to 6s, or anyone switching from 6 to 6s plus?
What are your reasons?
Like me, at first I see 6+, God, OIS plus a 1080p screen, I'd go for it. But now I've preordered the smaller 6s. It's more "handy", feels more comfortable. OIS and 1080p screen is just not worth loosing this comfort.

I feel the same way as you do. I am going from 6plus to 6s. the "handy" comfort. I miss it.

6 Plus to 6S Plus...no change.

Last year I upgraded from a 5 and the 6 Plus felt too big for about 24 to 36 hours, then I couldn't and still can't imagine going small again. Never.

Many of my collegues and friends are switching to the Plus version.

I think the Plus was one year to early. Now the size is ready for the masses.

I am pretty active and can feel my 6 in my pocket all the time. Would hate to think how a + would be.

I would be forever having to take it out of my pocket while going up some stairs etc.

I got a launch day 6+ last year, but returned it on day 13 as I found to too unwieldy to handle. :(

In hindsight, I think the main reasons were as follows:

  • I went straight to a 5.5" 6+ from a 4" 5S and I think the jump was too much for me.
  • There were very few decent cases for launch so I went with what I knew (a Spigen Tough Armor), but it in itself was mahoosive and made me feel like Dom Jolly whenever I used the phone! :D
This year I've gone for a 6S+, as I think (hope!) it will be an easier transition from a 6 to a +.

I'm picking it up at 8.30am on launch day.

I use a SpiBelt when I run. Works great.

I'm going from a 6 to a 6s Plus. The 6 started feeling small to me within six months and I regretted not getting the Plus. I'm really looking forward to having the larger device.

I definitely thought about switching down to 6S from 6+ but I went with the 6S+. I have a mophie on my 6+ and by the time i go to bed i've already used the phone battery and the case battery is usually at 20% so I figured i would annihilate the 6S battery and be dead by 2pm.

5s to 6s+

I'm still unsure. I'm thinking of canceling my order and getting a 6s. I'm worried I'll bend the plus. Everyday I go running and put my phone in a tight armband. I also often put my phone in the front pocket of tight jeans. I have strong legs, so the pressure in my pocket is significant. I've ripped a couple jeans from sitting down. I worry my 6s+ is going to end up bent.

You need to wear bigger jeans.

I kept the 6 Plus. Wanted a 6 but since Apple didn't update the lowly 720p screen I kept the 6 Plus for another.

A bit, yeah. It's quite a bit heavier than the standard 6 (especially this year since they both weigh a little bit more). And it's large for an armband fit too, so I usually just ended up holding it in my hand during runs.

I'm switching from 6+ to 6S.

Yeah I can use the 6+ with one hand most of the time, but it's kind of awkward. I end up using my little finger to balance it on and keep my other hand on standby, ready to catch if it has a wobbler. I wear skinny jeans pretty much all the time and the outline of my 6+ is actually stained into the pocket that's clearly visible from the outside, literally ruined several pairs of jeans. I don't regret trying the bigger of the 2 phones for a year, it was nice to have a bigger screen (who wouldn't want a bigger screen?), but personally I'm looking forward to having a manageable sized phone again.

6 to 6s+ and really nervous!

That's nothing - I'm going to go from 5s to 6s+ because I can't be bothered with getting sweaty palms from worrying about where and when my battery will try to die anymore. I'm still not sure about the size, but did go into an Apple store today and a 6+ fits in my shirt pocket pretty well, only sticking out a bit. We'll see....

Interesting thread. I'm on a 5s and when the 6 and Plus came out a year back I scoffed at the size of the Plus and said unequivocally I would never own a phone that awkwardly big. It's taken the year for me to turn.

I've held a Plus three times and although the phone looks strange in the hands of others I found myself thinking each time 'It ain't that awkward'. Sure, one hand usage isn't really that doable. But found it pretty much perfect for making calls (holding it up to my head didn't feel daft to me) and it fits in my pocket. I'm hardly a big bloke with massive hands. Would regret getting the 6s as I'd find myself lusting for the bigger screen.

Also helps that I work from home. I rarely have to travel. Guess it's about life style and I can handle losing the ease of usage the 5s can give me by having a bigger phone that will be utterly fantastic as a media device.

As most people have proven in this thread, it really is about personal choice. It's your phone, it has to suit you. Doesn't really matter what the phone looks like in the hands of others.

Yeah, it sounds like it won't be a good match for me. I decided to cancel my order for the 6s+ and get the 6s. Interestingly, I did that today and I got a ship date of Sept 24.

6 to 6s Plus. Battery on the 6 was poor. Missed OIS and 1080p when reading/zooming type but mainly battery was a definite deal breaker, especially without fast charging.

I think the 6s Plus + Watch is a great combo.

What did you do?

Btw, I thought the 6 and 6+ has pretty much the same battery life regarding "screen on" usage. 6+ only wins on talk time, when the creek is turned off..
