With the stronger glass on the new iPhones...and I believe Apple care is now changed and you get two claims a year...does that encourage anyone to switch to using the phone naked? I’m thinking if giving it a try. I am pretty clumsy though.

I’ve only ever needed AppleCare for technical issues thankfully, I rarely drop my phones. However I have a toddler so going caseless is basically out of the question at the moment. Still trying to decide on the best case to get.

My kids are 14 and 10 now..and have their own phones..so I sort of want to pretend like I’m a grown up now. Lol!

I just use a skin and glass screen protector. Gives a little extra protection and preserves the beauty of the phone.

no case no glass protector. I have an iPhone 11 max and the only issue is the coating on the phone being a bit smudged cause of the constant finger use from the oils on my finger, but its only noticeable in certain light.

I use a case on my SE 2020 but the silicone case adds a little bulk so I am going to go caseless on the Mini. I love the feel of the glass back and the aluminum frame, tired of holding silicone all day. I will likely take AppleCare just in case. No pun intended!

I have never had a glass screen protector since my iphone is never in close contact with other stuff. I have used Peel cases, though, because they are very thin and they give better grip.

I would love to use a full body impact clear film this time but have not found one yet that covers the front, back and sides. Might end up using a thin clear case with a tempered glass screen protector.

I would love to go free, I love the slimness and clean lines of a naked phone. But I am too clumsy to not have at least a basic Apple case on it.

Good gods no. Clumsy + distracted + cats + tile floors = a protective case (Otterbox!) AND AppleCare. I have dropped my phones a lot. But never cracked a screen or damaged them because they were always in a drop-protected case.

I used to carry my iPhone SE naked. I am planning to buy the magsafe clear case for 12 mini, however.

I drop mine all the time. I'd love to go case free, but the thought of having scratches all over it prevents me.

I've been always using a case with my 6 and my 8+ because I hated the round edges, the naked phone was just too slippery and I needed a case just to make the phone easier to grab in the first place. However back when I had my 4S I loved to use it naked and I was just putting it in a wool/leather sleeve when I wasn't using it, I am thinking about doing the same for my 12 at first and see how it goes. I expect that going back to rectangular edges will make the phone much more easy to handle.

My son will be 17 on the 24th and my daughter is 12. But both were once toddlers and I spent a lot of time redirecting them. My stuff is my stuff.

When my daughter was learning to walk and using the furniture to get around it was a bit easier. I could pick her up and haul her across the living room. I knew I had about 3-5 minutes or so before I had to pick her up again. She always made a beeline for my phone.

When my kids were around 5 and 10 (or so) they were given an iPhone 3GS to share between them so that helped a bit. Also, the crap tablet my dad had that my mom gave to me.

But toddler or no, it's my stuff and I want it left where I laid it down…so that's what happened. And eventually they both learned to respect other people's property. It's not theirs, they weren't allowed to walk off with it or put it in their mouth or anything else toddlers do. My wife, who is a private person was even more strict.

No case since 2009.

HTC Touch Pro -> iPhone 5 -> iPhone 6+ -> iPhone 6s+ -> Pixel 3a XL.

My iPhone 11 Pro held up exceptionally well, even the silver stainless steel band has no scratches.

I will be rocking my iPhone 12 Pro caseless this year. All stainless steel bands now have a PVD coating. The back glass also has a PVD coating. Plush with the ceramic shield, I think it’s even more protected.

I think a tempered glass protector is enough - I'm planning on getting the silver iPhone 12 Pro so if the stainless steel edges scratch, I'm thinking I can buff them out easily.

This may not work at all on the other iPhone 12 Pro colors since they use a PVD coating.

We have a cat, have always had one. Both my wife and I agree - no cats on tables, eating surfaces, desks, coffee tables, etc. I grew up rural where cats were outside animals. They can be taught.

I've never had anything knocked over or broken because of that, including phones. Of course, my phone is always placed somewhere next to me wherever I am in the house so there's that.

For train of thought reasons, I'd have a hard time going case free regardless of how strong the glass is. Also, cases help me identify my phone within all the other phones in the household.

Never used a case ever, since the original iPhone.
Yes all my iPhones had some dents or something at the end, because they all fall down more than i would like...

But i have yet to see a broken glass.

I used to go caseless with the 5S and earlier iPhones. Cracked the screen on a 3GS once, but otherwise never had an issue. Went with a case with the 6/7 since they’re so slippery to hold. Tempted to go back to caseless with the 12pro, we’ll see.

I’m considering it, after holding my sisters iPhone 12 and seeing how light it is, WOW!!! 😱😱😱
