I have had a Pebble also for over a year now and it made me certain that I liked getting notifications. I had been a big supporter of them and had been telling people to try one if they are not sure if they want a smart watch or getting notifications on their arm. I was even going to let my friends borrow my Pebble to test out the idea. It is also a good choice for those who DO need one a little more water resistant.

However that all changed yesterday in the Pebble thread that started there. Some guy started out by calling anyone who would be seen with an Apple Watch instead of a Pebble Time Steel some names and he was getting pretty emotional about it. The thread got so bad the moderators had to remove it. The guy had to either work for Pebble or be an investor to get that worked up about it.

Now, I plan to just throw it away when the Apple arrives. I almost threw it away yesterday. I need to wind my 4 year rechargeable Seiko anyway so maybe I will just wear that this week and get the plastic off my arm.

1. Phone call notifications sometimes would literally vibrate on my wrist for no apparent reason, after I already hung up the phone.

I also find the ePaper screen hard to see at times too, and can't wait for the vibrant color LCD of the Apple Watch.

Last week I kept getting a notification of a Doctors Appointment every day that I had only told the phone to warn me about ONCE.

The strangest thing I discovered about the Pebble Display is that you cannot read it through Polarized Sun Glasses.

The best thing about the Pebble is that I mastered the wrist flick that lights it up. I would not mind if the Apple did that for when I want to check time without raising my arm or touching it.

I bought a Pebble in December because of the Apple Watch. I wanted to see if a smart watch was for me. I do own several watches and have worn watches since I can remember. The notifications turned out to be a great feature. I can discreetly see my messages and incoming calls without taking my phone out during meetings and moving about.

When the launch was announced, I sold my Pebble to help finance my Apple Watch. The watch has more features and I do have an Apple ecosystem in our household. :)

The Pebble is a good smart watch.

I am.

Pebble is a great smartwatch, but I am excited about the additional functionality I will get with the Apple Watch.

Just today I left my phone in my room and was in the kitchen cooking lunch. My wife sent me a text that needed a reply and all I could do was dismiss it, wash my hands and go searching for my phone.

It would have been convenient to raise my wrist, respond with siri and continue cooking.

Over and over I continue to run into situations where I say to myself "can't wait for this to be my apple watch."

Love my pebble and have had it for a year, but it's going to be reserved for dirty yard work and intense sports once I get my apple watch

It is going to be great having a nice looking watch again instead of a plastic toy looking one.

This.

I have a pebble steel. It's a nice watch, but it's not a beautiful watch. After seeing apple watch in the flesh and trying it on, it's hard to go back to the pebble because apple watch is so far ahead in the aesthetic department. Afterwards I tried wearing my nicer watches for a while, but missed the utility of the pebble and kept looking at my wrist whenever my phone went off haha.

Irony.

Anyone keeping their Pebbles and planning to switch between? I have the OG Pebble and the Steel. Thought of keeping both of them to switch back and forth but honestly doubt that I would go back after the Apple Watch. I'd throw them on eBay but I'm indecisive right now.

I'm keeping mine for times where there may be rougher use like by the pool, mud run, etc. the resale value will be crap anyway.

I've loved my Pebble, but I'm ready for more integration with my iPhone. Pebble is a good notification window, but can't do much else with the iPhone. However I've seen some great 3rd party apps, including a metronome that uses the vibration motor to keep time. Would be even more useful for Haptic Feedback on the Watch. I might write one myself if I can learn the code...
