I just installed mine and most of the bubbles have gone away, but now I'm left with an orange peel look. I'm hoping it will all clear out within the next 25 hours. Did anyone have a similar situation with the Orange peel look/feel?

Sorry to say that's there to stay. I only used it for a few weeks while I was waiting for the MIME glass to arrive. Glass is soooo much better.

I saw some pictures earlier onion this thread. and they looked flawless, as if there was not even a skin installed. Did I mess up during the application process? Or is there something I'm missing

Yeah I got it too. The wet-install screen protectors seem to do that just because they're made of a rubbery substance. Word of advice, don't try to squeegee any bubbles out at this point, as it will only make it worse. The skin will maintain the track the bubble moves in, giving you even more of the orange peel texture. Speaking from experience.

That's probably why, wish I knew that beforehand. Thanks for the help, I'll have to reorder and try to not squeegee out my next time around.

Guys is there an alternative to BSE? The orange peel effect is a deal breaker for me. Would appreciate some pointers.

Thanks :)

The thing is that earlier pictures in the thread showed a bse installed perfectly and there does not seem to be any orange peel effect. I'm now curious as to what the difference was.

You can seen the orange peel effect in this video at 5:52.

I used to have a Zagg back in the days for my iPhone 4 and that orange peel effect was hideous. I need one that looks crystal clear (as invisible as possible) but covers the screen exactly like the BSE.

I've seen perfectly installed shields that still have orange peel, it's unfortunately a side effect. However, the trick is to not try to force too much of the solution out because the skin will take the shape of the path the water takes.

Honestly, it's all how the light hits it. Some angles mine looks like glass, some angles you can really see it

Do you know whether the matte version suffer from the same side effect?

I received and fitted my skin today.

I have the rear matte skin installed, not sure if I'm going to do the front as I don't really like the feeling. The matte back skin feels great though, not too dissimilar to the naked feel/texture if the phone.

The real trick to installing these skins is time. Set aside a few hours where you won't need your phone. At first I couldn't get the sides to stick, no matter what I tried. I then had to go out for a few hours so I decided to leave the install as it was and continue when I got back. When I returned it had dried out enough to get the sides to stick down.

Here's a few pictures, it does look better in person. I'm very happy with it considering this is my first wet install.

Thanks for the pics. Does the back feel, for the lack of a better word, slimy or wet? I tried a gloss skin and I hated the feel for it. It just felt like I needed to wipe it down with my shirt yet nothing changed.

I ordered the matte back version and hope the feel of it is more dry if that makes sense.

The matte version feels a lot better then the gloss in my opinion. It has a soft/silky feel to it that isn't too dissimilar to the naked aluminium of the phone.

I had the matte back and sides on my iPhone 5 and i couldn't agree more, it felt like nothing was on the phone

Anyone try Best Skins Ever on the iPhone 6 yet? pic pls!

If I had the choice again, I think I would go with matte on the back. The gloss is just too glossy and looks odd. And the corners on my screen peel up with my case, but I was impatient with the dry time. But I used to have a similar skin on my old blackberry 8900 curved screen edges and it never stuck then either. I'm gonna ditch it for one of the Nillkin glass ones.

Matte Screen

I used the Best Skins Ever matte screen protector for about a week on my iPhone 6, before removing it a couple days ago. Here are my thoughts:

1. Loved the texture, especially for swipe gestures and texting
2. Fit was good, but maybe it could've stretched closer to the absolute edges of the screen
3. Visibility sucked! I've used matte protectors in the past, and while I knew it would reduce visibility, this was the single worst I've seen. There was a pixelated rainbow effect on the entire screen and looking at photos was terrible - it made the beautiful retina display on the iPhone 6 look like a non-retina display

Unless I can find a screen protector that perfectly fits the contours of the glass and improves the texture for swipe gestures and texting (try swipe texting with a warm hand that isn't entirely dry), I'll be going without a protector. Turns out it only costs $109 to replace the screen on the 6, so I'll take my chances.
