iPhone Anyone try unlocked a CDMA 4s w/ the 5.1.1 jailbreak?

Questions for those of you who have sucsesfully unlocked verizon 4s with gevey and T-Mobile micro sim.
1) Was the phone already activated through Verizon before starting the process?
2) Was the micro sim from T-Mobile already activated?
I've been trying to use an unactivated sim and believe that might be part of my problem. But before I activate the sim with my phone number, I want to verify I can unlock the phone with no activation from verizon. My current phone doesn't use a micro sim and once activated I'll be with out a phone until I get the iphone up and running.

I am having so much trouble with this stupid thing. I've tried every possible solution posted in this thread and nothing has worked.
I restored me Sprint CDMA 4S on 5.1.1, I restored once through itunes and once through the phone (because one person said you have to do it through the phone and the other person said you have to do it through itunes).
I also tried both methods with my deactivated sprint SIM in the phone, and both methods without any SIM in the phone
I then jailbroke with absinthe 2.0.4, also tried all methods with 2.0.2 and 2.0.1
I then downloaded ifunbox and deleted the carrier bundles
Have also tried downloading furiousmod, but of course it still isn't working. Also tried the SAM repo that some random guy above said that "applenberry told him to do this" which does not work since the SAM exploit was patched with ios 5.1.1.
I then placed the gevey with my ATT SIM in the phone and it acts like it's restarting and puts me in activation mode, which leads to the phone telling me it's not the correct SIM. I have also tried just not doing anything once this happens and after 15 minutes it still didn't do anything.
I also tried placing the white reset SIM in before the gevey and it does nothing at all.
Anything i am missing in these steps? I see that applenberry told everyone to update their iphones to 5.1.1 but they have no changed the directions at all. does anyone know what the new directions are? It can't be through furious mod because that obviously hasn't been updated yet.

I'm having problems too. I can't even get furiousmod to load without errors right now (see above post). Is the atNt sim currently activated? Here's the directions from the appleNberry site:

But I believe that the phone has to be activated with it's current carrier (sprint or verizon) and an activated micro sim to whatever carrier you're going with. I'm thinking that is key to this whole unlock with the gevey ultra s. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks
I contacted applenberry and they confirmed that they did update furiousmod, which i thought was ******** because i was still getting the error. so i cooled down and slowly ran through the process again and then i deleted and re-added the furiousmod repo i noticed that rather than having 3 packages in the source there were 4. There is a new CDMA package and i downloaded that and it successfully added. But still no unlock.
I am going to restore everything and restart because i don't think it's necessary to delete the carrier bundles and all of that. I am going to activate it with the original sprint SIM that it came with (currently has no service on it) and see if that will work. Then im going to go through the exact directions on applenberry.
I didn't purchase this SIM from applenberry directly, but on ebay so im thinking i may have a fault SIM. If the unlock doesn't work that will be my conclusion and i will be re-ordering another.

For crying out load, appleNberry website has it wrong, jdmz I owe you one. Loaded it and it loaded fine. Now the problem is getting the code. It asked to have the r-sim in and reboot to get the code, I do that and no code. I don't have the white sim reset card. So on to my next problem.FOR THOSE WITH THIS PROBLEM:

There has to be something else you are doing though. I have attempted your process multiple times, checked and rechecked to make sure it was exactly what you said to do and i get stuck in the activation screen with "activation required" and i have 2 bars of service but no carrier at the top. After the hard reset i saw the gevey screen for litterally a tenth of a second and it just closed out, and went to the activation screen. I have been in this step for nearly 15 minutes and no gevey screen yet.
So how did you activate the phone?
It takes alot of tinkering... I did not get it on the first try. I was too stuck on activation page.... I did the 112 emergency dial trick and it got past it, but it would come back to the page after the gevey successful message.
Try taking out the sim+gevey, then reinserting it and hard restarting (home+power). Then wait on activation page until you get a gevey message before you go on.
I had this problem when i was unlocking 5.0.1 too... but i spent hours and hours of just messing around and it works. Once it works, you will never see that activation crap again.

you use R-SIM and not gevey?? I believe they are a bit different. You should try the commcenter patch method... it worked for my iphone without needing to enter the code. I am back to using furiousmod though... because i tinkered with some stuff and it required activation again.

Say i do get in unlocked, but then want to use a different SIM then what i currently get it unlocked on. can i just take out the SIM and pop in a new one from a different carrier and it will load right up? Or will i have to go through this mess again?
im pretty sure you just pop it in and reboot
Update: another problem i ran into was a missing "cellular data network" tab that I fixed using tetherme.. Now i can send mms on tmobile.

activate without original sim
I've just updated to 5.1.1 from 5.0.1 and it asked for activation. I don't have the original Verizon sim so can't activate it. Absinthe doesn't work for me because the phone must be activated before jailbreaking. What should I do now ? thanks for any help

Jailbreaking doesn't need activation. Run Absinthe 2.04, plug your phone up to the computer until Absinthe see's it and when the jailbreak button highlights, hit it. I have a Verizon 4s that we lost the original sim and have no problem jailbreaking it after a factory reset.
edit: if it has a sim slot, remove sim, reboot without sim, let it turn on an then absinthe will see it.

2/Put the iphone in DFU mode and restore to 5.1.1 (9B206).
3/Open itunes and let it activate, sync. Close itunes.
4/Open Absinthe 2.0.4 and jailbreak.
5/Open Cydia and add this source cydia.furiousmod.com, then install FuriousMod-4S (the correct version for 5.1.1)
6/Open iFunBox, go to private/var/mobile/Library delete both Carrier and Carrier Bundle.bundle folders.
7/Insert Gevey and your SIM then turn off your iphone (don't need to wait for Gevey's black screen to pop up).
8/Power on, wait until Gevey's black screen pops up and write down the code.
9/Open FuriousMod and type in the code then register.
10/Wait for signal. Done

I have a C Spire CDMA 4s running the latest 2.0.12 bb and 5.1.1, and I am using the same methods everyone else is recommending. I keep getting caught at the activation and it's really frustrating. I just tried what the user above me has tried, and it still kicks me to activation.
Doing the voice memo trick will get me to the main screen, but it's extremely annoying that I have to do it every time. I am trying to go to straight talk.
I can get reception; it shows 3G but no bars. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
I've also done the removal of carrier bundles, full restore, in and out, you name it.
NOTE: I am using the official gevey s from applenberry for cdma.

After your iphone completes the restore, it will reboot. Keep itunes open and don't unplug you iphone. Wait until itunes detects your phone as a new device, it will ask you to register the phone( i clicked register later). wait and see what happen. goodluck!

1)Any specific reason to go into DFU mode? Any reason I can't just do a complete restore?
2)Is ifunbox a program run from the computer or a source run right on the phone (found pc download, I assumed it was a source run from cydia, Im guessing I'm wrong)
3)Are you getting full texting ability?
4)And I assume the sim installed was/is a pre-activated sim?

Followed pretty much every option in this forum. I had it unlocked the other day using one of them, but the texting, mms and such was really screwed up and now, I can't get any of them to work.
Phone will activate through iTunes to Verizon, but after the step of inserting the Gevey with the AT&T sim, it will search, sometimes get service for about a split second, then kick me to activation. No amount of rebooting, reinserting the sim, or restoring will change that fact.
It also displays bars and 3G, plus AT&T 12.0 in the Settings>About section, but Network is Not Available.
This is the same with FuriousMod or the alternative two packages. And also having deleted carrier bundles and without deleting them. I thought I had progress yesterday when I deleted just the Verizon folder from System>Library>Carrier Bundles and AT&T showed up for about a minute, but then it went back to the same activation loop as before.

SMS message worked fine after I successfully unlocked the phone. However, after I follow Wilfredom80's instruction to install leimobile, I can only receive message from others, I can't send any message. I removed the app and restart but it didn't help. I'm not blaming him tho.
I think the 3G doesn't work either.
I also follow Wilfresom80's instruction to fix my voicemail, and thanks to him it works.
iFunBox is a windows/mac program not Cydia source or Cydia app.

Has anyone got there 5.1.1 phone to unlock just by jailbreaking and installing the new and updated furiousmod 4s for 5.1.1? I have a 5.0.1 here, and I'm hesitant to update it to 5.1.1 unless its works just like it did on 5.0.1 (voicemail etc...)
