For the $100 it cost me to upgrade I am very happy with the ipad 2. I immediately noticed the speed improvement. The ergonomics of the thinner form factor and the convenience of the magnet-activated turn-on are great.

No regrets, but I wouldn't say it's entirely justifiable

I have recently upgraded due to winning an iPad 2 in a competition.

Personally, I don't think i'll use the cameras much, if at all.

I like the slightly lighter form of the iPad 2 and like that it has a flatter back.

Other than that...I certainly wouldn't be recommending to anyone with an original iPad that they suddenly get a case of iPad envy and rush out to upgrade.

I'd say it was a nice incremental upgrade but not worth losing sleep or money over.

Of course it's all subjective. What I feel has no bearing on what others may feel, so it's a moot point. ;)

I sold my iPad to upgrade to the iPad 2 and I couldn't be happier with it. I use it even more than my first one. When a new one comes out I will wait a couple months and upgrade to that one. Round and round we go

I went from 64GB iPad 1 to 64GB iPad 2.

The iPad 2 is far and away a better machine all around. Some of the larger apps and games run much smoother with the added RAM, and better processor. I use the FaceTime camera often, but seldom use the rear camera. They probably could have put an HD FaceTime camera on the front, and dropped the rear camera. (Now that I said that, some super cool Augmented Reality App is going to come out that makes uses of the rear camera and becomes the "Killer App" for iPad.)

If I had to do it all over again, I would probably get a 32GB iPad 2, instead of the 64GB. Cloud services have really matured, and I really don't need as much storage on the iPad 2 as I did back when the iPad 1 first came out.

Same here. I bought an iPad 2 on launch day as my first iPad. I couldn't resist the refurb pricing on the original iPad, so I ended up selling the iPad 2 and sticking with the first generation. I don't game much so the experience has been nearly identical between the two devices for me. Wasn't worth an extra $200. =P

Exactly what I did! I bought the iPad 2, but I didn't like the sharper edges and I almost dropped it twice...returned it 3 days later and bought an iPad 1 refurb. It can last me till the iPad 3. ;). IMO the iPad 1 is easier to get a grip on.

Funny you ask this, because I sold my Ipad1 to get the Ipad2 (a couple of weeks before it came out). Got the ipad2 on opening day, and realized it wasn't that much faster than the first one. Since demand was high I sold the ipad2 for a profit, then re-purchased a second hand Ipad1.

ohh man was I wrong, Ipad1 was sluggish (I do alot of pdf reading, and scrolling through pages felt like it took forever compared to the snappiness of the Ipad2).

Luckily I had found a good deal on the Ipad1, so reselling it was easy. So I re-purchased a Ipad2 and never looked back.

So basically, initially I had buyers remorse, but then comparing it to a Ipad1 it was much better so I'm happy with sticking with the Ipad2 (keep in mind, money wasn't really an issue to me, had it been I probably would have stuck with the Ipad1)

I skipped iPad 1 because it couldn't video chat. Didn't see the point of a tablet that wasn't able to do that, as it's a very important feature to me. And this is all the cameras are really meant for--I wasn't expecting professional camera quality or even iPhone 4 quality. I also love the thin and light form factor--the original iPad looks a lot clunkier to me now, and I don't think they're going to make them much thinner any time soon.

There is no reason to have buyer's remorse if you upgraded. The iPad 2 is a better product than the iPad 1 in all categories.

Don't try to get justification for your purchase from others. If you enjoy it then enjoy it and dont worry what other people think. If you've made a mistake then return the device or learn to make more informed decisions like going to the apple store and playing with the iPad 2 until you're convinced its right or wrong for you.

Well Said!

Have both iPad and iPad2, keeping them both. Love them both. Use them with new 4G MIFI.

Had a bit of buyer's remorse after realizing that it couldn't be jail-broken yet (bought it in the middle of June).

It was completely rectified by Comex's Jailbreak, thankfully.
