Yeah I'm due for an upgrade on the upgrade program. Had this phone for a year and a half. I'll be on the every year upgrade cycle then. New cameras and chip are enough of an upgrade for me. I don't have a problem with the design not being different.

I will be!

I can understand why people are disappointed but at the same time... we all knew apple has switched to a 3 year pattern (iPhone 6-6S-7). The 11 isn’t worth it for XS owners but for owners of the original X, it presents a good upgrade.

The X was basically a “beta” device. The 11 represents the finished version of this generation. It also gives X owners the ability to choose a larger screen which wasn’t an option when the original X released (5.8 or nothing).

The new cameras are great, the brighter screen will be a welcome addition and the extra durability is another bonus. Not to mention, the trade in value for the X drops the price to $699 which isn’t too bad for an 6.5” smartphone flagship.

So they’ve got my vote. Would I have liked a full redesign and more groundbreaking features? Absolutely! But at the same time, I’d say it’s a good update.

Although I am so attracted to the Pro, the trade-in deal only cost me 400 USD to get an iPhone 11 256G with my almost 2 years old 256G iPhone X...

I will as my contract is up and my phone no longer charges via lightning. I was gonna get an 11 until I saw that the screen is a downgrade

The phone charges via Lightning still. The end that plugs into the wall charger is USB C.

Just posted this in another thread. Here is is again. That'll most likely do it for my once every 3 years post :p

Buying the 11 pro max. WAY better battery life, amazing camera/ vid camera, bigger and better screen. Not that much $$ really w/ trade in. Trade in 11 pro next year as well if the 2020 version blows me away. Can't see having this same old small phone for yet another year.

Will stay with the X. Was planning on upgrading but doubt I will notice the new features in everyday usage.
Faster processor does nothing for me as there is no noticeable lag when using the X. Had a XS for work and it was the exact same phone as the X - no noticeable difference at all.

I want something that feels new and I’m mad I have to wait another year...

I'll be upgrading from my X to the 11 Pro. I'm not on the upgrade program, so I skipped last year and am ready for a new phone. Midnight green is looking good.

I’m on the fence but am leaning towards no.

My iPhone X is butter. No flaws. Works like day 1.

Yeah, but I think the 11 may be a downgrade from the X. The 11 Pro still cost $749 after trading in your X.

edit: actually doing the comparison it seems better to get the 11. Also they offer 128gb in the 11 vs the jump to 256 on the 11 pro. You have a slightly worse display and trade portrait mode for the wide lens.

you can trade in the X and get an 11, 128gb for $350. That seems like a really good deal.

MY phone does not. I can only charge via wireless which is annoying as Ive been forced to

He said HIS phone no longer charges via Lightning. Apparently it's broken.
Ditto. The lightning port hasnt worked for the past month and a half and Ive been holding out for the new phones since I knew they'd be announced soon

I'm seriously considering it because of the $400 credit. I have a 64GB Silver X, and that's way more than any of the usual trade-in services offer. I got anywhere from $200-310 everywhere else, including AT&T. I had planned to hold out until next year when the phones likely offer USB-C and 5G, but I dunno now.

I want to upgrade, but Apple absolutely didn't offer us any need to upgrade. The iPhone X is flawless, and still feels fresh. The Ultra Wide nice, but isn't anything special, and the rest of the new features are mostly marketing.

Waiting for the next year. iPhones are on a 3 year cycle now. Bought the 6, then skipped the 6s and 7, and then X was the real upgrade. Same goes here.

in reality, I believe the 6, 6s, 7 and 8 were essentially the same design. Of course, they did throw the X in there with the 8.

In.

Upgrading from a X in Space Gray, 256GB.

Torn between the matte black version and the midnight green.

Since the Pro has WiFi 6, does that imply it’ll use a different (non-Intel) modem?
