So I'm guessing that the same can be send for these results taken from my Macbook Pro 8.2 / I7 2.3 / 16G RAM. This has the BTO APPLE SSD TS512C 500G.

Are those speeds are from a SSD? The write speed is terrible, I get around 180MB/sec read/write on several cheap external USB 3.0 hard drives.

I have the stock Apple 256gb SSD on a 2012 quad Mini server and it gets better than 450 MB/sec write and 500 read. My 2013 MBA with the Apple 512gb SSD gets about 700 MB/sec write and over 700 read.

Sata II is limited to 3Gb/s, and USB 3 can reach 5Gb/s, while the Air and Mini is PCI Express 5.0 Gb/s dual lane. If you have the newer PCIExpress-based SSD then you will have more speed.

I'm still not sure I understand the screenshot you posted. It showed a BlackMagic test result of 130MB/sec write and 193MB/sec read. You said they were from a "Macbook Pro 8.2 / I7 2.3 / 16G RAM. This has the BTO APPLE SSD TS512C 500G". Those speeds look more like a hard drive than a SSD.

Note that you are actually posting in a thread about the SSD in the MacBook Air, but it was started in 2011 and people were seeing write performance of over 200MB/sec. I'm surprised that the more expensive MBP with the 512gb SSD is so much slower. The biggest SSD available on the MBA was 256gb in 2011, and larger SSD's are usually faster.

Noted inre the MBA thread, didn't see one outside of here. As quoted this was top speccing BTO when I bought it several years ago. As previous the boot time etc are fast as. Its only recently when I started running El Capitan (was a snow leopard die hard) that I was able to use the black magic app to scan my drive. More miffed that its actually slower than the the older Mini???

Is there a way to configure Blackmagic Disk Speed Test to automatically STOP at the end of the read/write test (MAXIMUM SCORES) to take a screen capture? Otherwise it is impossible to capture the maximum scores!
