Ok feel better feel justified good for you! ;)

Whatever dude. Like I said, I pay for my stuff. I'm just not going to repay for the same damn thing because of some stupid moneygrubbing restriction they bury in the fine print. I'm glad the vast majority of developers get that and make it relatively easy to transfer your license to a new device.

I'm all for exactness in language, but in this case I think that insistance on use of the term "copyright infringement" instead of "stealing" serves only to obscure the moral implications of the act. Whatever the legal term for the crime, it is stealing.

While I see your point, it only confuses the issue if you consider copyright infringement to be morally exceptable. Personally I do consider copyright infringement to be wrong. The distinction is important because typically one is a criminal while the other is civil. I don't want to accuse people on this thread of being criminals. While you could be liable for civil damages, it's generally not, as you said, a crime. ;)

I thought discussing this topic was against the rules?

It probably should be. Because I don't want to encourage people to go out and take apps they haven't paid for, otherwise all the good developers will go away. I can't even remember the last time to used a cracked app and I purposely didn't install the "Sinful" repo. A scenario like what I've described hardly ever happens because most devs are ******s to paying customers. But in theory, if such a situation as I've narrowly described arose, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

I'm against stealing apps. I do buy all of them from cydia and app store.
However, I was not able to transfer or upgrade mywi no rock version, it is completely impossible to download it again.
I paid $9.99 for it.
Tried to email saurik and developers - no response.

I downloaded a cracked version - this is not stealing or copyright infringement. I have the legal right to that, as I got scammed by the developers.

So the op is right I guess...

The upgrade to MiWi 4 is not intended to be free. The price for a new copy is now $19.99 but of you are buying with the same account as the prior version the price is reduced to $9.99 at checkout.

MyWi 4.0 is not a free upgrade from MyWi 3.x. It is $19.99 for a new license and $9.99 for an upgrade. Just like you aren't entitled to steal Windows 7 just because you paid for a copy of Vista, you are not entitled to steal MyWi 4 because you own 3.x.

Discussing the topic in general is ok, but promoting the wheres/hows is not, and this is where the OP's first sentence is not ok. I could edit it out, but this discussion hasn't exactly been healthy, so closing.
