I use Siri everyday now...but i did take a while to adapt to it. Now I use it to call people set reminders, set timers ect. Its pretty flawless in a quite environment...but i wouldnt bother using it out and about unless its quite.

You can tell Siri is a game changer buy the amount of Hate Siri gets. Iphone and Ipad had haters when they were first launched now everyone and there dog uses and loves them.

I think i would use it mostly for reminders and alarms, it seems faster and easier than unlocking the iPhone, finding the app, typing it in, and then accepting.

And also with Siri built into iOS 6 maps, I will use it there a lot too. At least, I think I will. :p

Apple shorten the sequences in ads it takes a little longer then in the adds for siri to process a request normally around 15 seconds over wifi and 30+ over 3G.

I am dyslexic so sometimes spelling is difficult for me. Thus, I find Siri's dictation feature really useful. Like many, though, I wish Apple would make Siri more useful for the UK. Also, I'd like the Siri to be intrinsic to the phone so that it could be useful for dictation even if there is no WiFi/3G.

I set 10-12 appointments per day with Siri. It's flawless and fantastic to use for that purpose.

Mine is almost always instantaneous. But then I'm on Verizon with almost zero latency.

I don't think people realize all the commands at their disposal with Siri.

Then again when I had my GS2 I used voice commands a lot and there were plenty of android people that called that a gimmick too.

I just think many people in general don't see the value of voice interaction with their device. However I like it, and use Siri often.

The fact that Siri is more AI based means it's more forgiving compared to voice commands in my experience.

And yes Siri is a game changer because all other phone makers are jumping on the bandwagon with Siri clones or Siri competitors.

I never use Siri. I disabled her on day 1. I don't want to talk to my phone, and half the time she don't even recognize what I say.

I use it daily. Mainly for answering and sending texts while I'm on the road. Don't have to look at the phone to press the home button.

you should have saved a hundred bucks and got the 4..... but i LOVE siri sooo....

The 4S is getting a handful of features in iOS6 that the 4 is not. The 4S is also available in up to 64GB of storage space with the base storage being 16GB, while the 4 (saving $100 as you say) is only available in 8GB. The 4S has a peppier processor that loads apps, web pages, etc. faster. It also allows for HSPA+, potentially increasing browsing speeds threefold.

In short, for a measly $100, I think the 4S is the clear choice when talking about signing a contract.

Totally agree, but I think the main reason people are upgrading to the 4S is because of Siri and voice integration. Can't wait for new iOS 6 features.

Using siri was a bit entertaining when I first got my 4s, but these days I don't even bother to use it.

I have one.

No, CURRENTLY it is not. It was available in 16GB when it was the top tier iPhone. Apple only sells them in 8GB models now. When you purchased it, unless it was RIGHT when the 4S launched an the price was lowered, you would have gotten it for $200 on contract (talking about US sales here). Currently, you can get a 4 for $100 on contract, but your only choice is an 8GB, hence my statement.

That may be, however I was responding to a statement where it was said that the person could have saved $100 by getting an iPhone 4 since he didn't care about Siri anyway. I simply wanted to highlight other features that the 4S outshines the 4. Even without Siri, when locking yourself into a contract, I think the 4S is the better buy.

Maybe about once every few days! I do use the speech to text a LOT though:).

Looking forward to Siri on iOS 6! Here in the UK we'll finally be able to use him for a lot more :)

I find myself never finding the need to use it, although I prefer just to do everything on the phone itself. If I used it on the train or if I'm walking on the sidewalk it might seem like I'm talking to myself, or just knowing everyone knows what I'm saying ( texting, Internet search, etc ). Anyone find Siri or just voice implimentation in general useless?

now that its in spanish at least (ios6) i can use it once in a while. i only use it to set alarms, and reminders. i think people's not ready to see someone yelling at a phone yet :D

Nope

Loyal Apple customer since '86; hardly a hater.

But I truly despise Siri. Beta? You ain't kiddin'. Half-baked; unfinished; sent into the world before its time. (And, from my perspective, it's actually getting worse, not better.) Furthermore, I can type faster getting comprehensive, usable, results with Google's app. Even G's voice option for searching is superior.

Siri has been disabled on this iPhone in frustration. (Coming to the iPad in iOS 6! Oh joy, oh rapture!)

Done and done.
