@RaceTripper - Thanks for the update.

Similiar situation here - single monitor into the 14" Macbook Pro M1Pro model in clamshell mode. I too don't use any of the LG apps. I too have to powercycle the on system updates. 90 percent of time it wakes up from sleep properly. The other times, I have powercycle the monitor and curse Apple while doing it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah, it’s annoying but I could have worse problems with my setup.

anyone finds the reader mode is better for reading and coding?
Thanks
I spend all day coding in Intellij IDEA and looking at github stuff in a browser, etc. and I use DCI-P3 Picture Mode. I don't care for the color tone of Reader mode.

Hi there,

i have a problem after installing the latest ventura update.
The screen of my LG32un880, is no longer deactivated after the pre-set inactivity time.....
After the screensaver, the screen goes black but it is not deactivated, just a black screen starts.
Has anyone encountered my same problem?

I found a (partial) solution to the problem that didn't turn off the screen completely.
I disabled the option that prevented the computer from sleeping when the screen was off.
Now the screen turns off completely, even the backlight.

reporting back on ventura 13.4.1:

system now can detect both monitors without any issue( both on usb -c cable - LG original cable)

one funny facts is that I brought another one of theses monitor during prime days- it was flicking immediately after plugged it it, called amazon and they offered a replacement with the same discounted prime price without any issue. I am scheduled to get it delivery this week. finger crossed it is not a lemon.

Here are some measurements made at 50% and 100% brightness at the center of the display.

The measurements should be made in the various areas of the display, but for the moment I have only made 2 measurements.

50% Brightness
50%.jpg

By default the display is set to 6500K, but increasing the brightness often results in an increase in the CCT, so we find 6808K at 50%
(at 35% the CCT is actually 6500K as the stated setting.)
No flickering at this level.

100% Brightness

100%.jpg

372 Lux is just above the 350 declared by manufacture.
CCT is still a bit higher, around 7200K, but we can consider it normal.
No flickering at this level.

Measurements are in line with monitor specifications.
The absence of flickering is excellent, which is an aspect that can greatly impact the quality of life during the use of the device.

To this day despite the years that have passed since the launch of this monitor, considering the price, I think it is still a best-buy today.

This firmware update fixes monitor connection after macos (Sonoma, the latest beta) reboot. Confirm it!

the system doesn't notify me of the update. What model of monitor do you have?

this new firmware really helped me....

I had one monitor has 3.0 1.0.16 4.11 older firmware as it was brought about 3 yrs ago.

now after flashing the firmware, it is reading 3.03 1.2.16 and 4.11. no more flicking

I don't see why not. Unless you can find something better in that ballpark.

I think the monitor has a good price for 32", 4k and ergo arm. Dell 32" monitor are more expensive than LG.

From CES 2024, I think the focus is on Gaming monitor OLED.

Hi,
I continue to update this topic.

I have installed the dual controller software by LG, so that I can share the Magic Mouse and Keyboard of Mac mini with Mac OS and Windows 10 on Mac Pro. Mac mini and Mac Pro are connect both to my Lg32.

This app work very will, but on windows 10 I have a problem with some keys:
volume control, brightness control and disk eject not working.
Is there anyone who can help me to solve this problem?
Thank you.
