This Hagibis Pro hub seems to have great features, but the design for powering the drives and ports is seriously flawed. There are two USB-C ports on the back and both have to be used to power the unit or some of the ports and drive bays won’t function. Since one of them has to be connected to the mini, that means you can either have the external monitor (DP1.4) active, or you can have the drive bays active, but not both at the same time. I thought about opening it up to see if I could jerry-rig an external power supply, but why waste more time on this faulty Chinese crap? Back it went.

Just ordered a M1 mini and am looking for hubs with an M2 Sata SSD slot. The Satechi offers this product. Anyone have any experience with performance and handling heat?
I am using this, the fairywill hub.
