Just wondering how the experience was?

Any issues?

No issue. I was there at 10:AM. They ask my mobile number and told him I want black 32G and I make to sure that I'm going to have the phone on the 24th. They said yes and I'm going to receive a confirmation email which I did receive and said on the 24th delivery:)
 
Just got back from my store, a 45 min wait. Not bad. I arrived at 9:40am left at 10:45am (PST)

But everything went smoothly, got my 32gb black ordered, and its on it's way to the AT&T store to where I'll be vacationing. (In store pickup at that AT&T location on the 24th so my store manger says.) (I'm uncomfortable having my phone sent to my Hotel.)

The systems did not crash. Just went sluggish, and it kept dropping my Apple care purchase, ended up doing that separate.

The Manager just told me straight up I could save $$ by using the upgrade on my other line, I didn't even have to ask. I was happy. $200 saved.

AT&T has already charged my credit card :)

No conformation emails, and the order status page doesn't know I exist yet. I got an email asking me about my retail experience, but it has no details about my order.

Where is my order# on this dang receipt....

EDIT: I will add the line went very fast because 90% of the people in line did't have a credit card, they had a Debit Card, or cash. So they were sent home. I felt bad for them after many waited for an hour... Then one AT&T worker started checking everyone on the list to make sure they had a good card.
 
Yeah, I went to the AT&T store at 9 and there were just a handful of us in line. Manager came out a few minute later and too our names down so we wouldn't lose our place in line. They opened the store at 9:30, a half hour early. Servers were slow but it all went through! =D
 
anyone get an order number or a way to track it?
they just processed mine manually and it went through but didnt provide with with an order number and i havent received the confirm email yet
any help?
 
I used att store too... ordered 4 of them, going later today (around 6pm EST) to get the 5th as it just slipped my mind earlier hahaha
 
In and out in 10 minutes over lunch in Dallas.

I had replaced stolen model on May 8 and was eligible for the extended return date. It was all extremely easy. They offered to ship it to my house or have me pick it up at the store. They'll charge me on the ship date and give me full credit back when I turn in my 3GS and pick up the new one as long as it's within 7 days of the 24th.

I'll be out of town that day, so I just had them ship it to the store and will pick it up over the weekend.

It appeared people who went in early had some issues when the server was down...but it was flowing pretty quick over the lunch hour.
 
Finally got through!

I finally got through to AT&T and pre-ordered. Got a confirmation and an order number.

NOTE: AT&T's confirmation says: "Your order number is _______. Pre-orders for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS 8 GB will be processed to arrive as early as June 24, 2010 if submitted by 2 p.m. ET June 22, 2010. The actual shipment date and receipt of your order is not guaranteed and may be subject to delays for reasons that include, but are not limited to, product availability, inventory, credit issues, number porting or carrier delays, and completion of other required AT&T business processes."

Given how screwed up things have been today, I am no longer confident that I will get my iPhone on the 24th...
