Really? So people can just be rude selfish jerks and disturb others and the problem isn’t the ones causing the issue. Sounds like victim blaming, how progressive.

I think what Jesla was trying to say is that attempting to control others is a futile endeavor. Control over others is an illusion that causes way too much suffering. We have to accept reality - that others will do what others want to do, and life goes on. Much of life is like a movie. Some people get to be actors, while most are just extras that can only watch from the outside.

If your neighbor's wind chimes bother you, you can try speaking to him/her about it. Apart from that, all you can do is accept that the chimes make noise, and adapt - either use earplugs, or move, or whatever. Either way, complaining internally or on MacRumors is not going to fix the problem; on the contrary, it just causes more unhappiness.

If we look for problems, we will never stop looking because it is a bottomless pit. We can't control what others do/say, and thinking that we can is a surefire way to suffer.

Seriously?.... I have the right to hang wind chimes, own dogs and YOU have the option of buying ear plugs.

Short of criminality on your end, you have ZERO recourse.

Thankfully I don’t personally have neighbors with wind chimes and I’m not into victim blaming. Period. People should stop being selfish first of all and this would solve a lot of issues is my point.

And some apparently have the right to be selfish jerks. Me me me me..... All about me, who cares about anyone else right?

Noise Pollution from inconsiderate/rude people. I’ve often observed that people w wind chimes r loud & busy in useless, unproductive ways. There’s no stillness in their lives & little navigation. They seem to be pulled this way/that way, w as little rhyme or reason as the way the wind blows. The continual activation of their energy by the sound of the chimes keeps them on the move, but it’s mostly running around in circles rather than purposefully moving forward. Helene Graziano - NJ-
