11" or 13"?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the 11"'s all have samsung on the 2011s?

11". That's the only size notebook I will ever buy for myself.

He's just gathering data for the anandtech review.

Who cares why? It's still good info. AnandTech is a good source of info anyway. He had the most comprehensive review of the 2011 Airs.

13" 2.0Ghz i7

APPLE SSD SM512E

Just ran Disk Speed Test: 384.5 MB/s write, 434.2 MB/s read

Got mine yesterday, can't check it right now, but i was playing with it yesterday and MAN it is FAST, and i know, because i also have a iMac with SSD, well this one beats the crap out of it :D

How do we check the display?

Check for an LG Display with the MacBook Air
Using the same command to check the make and model of an LCD that works on past Macs, you can check the manufacturer of the display panel of the MacBook Air.

Launch the Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/)
Copy and paste the following command onto a single line and hit return:
ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

Read the output, you are looking for an “LP” prefix to numbers reported back:
LP133WP1-TJA3
Color LCD

If the prefix is not “LP” then you have a Samsung display and there’s no need to use the color profile or to follow the rest of the instructions, if it does start with LP (like the example shown), then proceed

I know. That was my point that it's a good thing.

In the interest of statistics I just checked 8 2012 MBAs at the Apple store. They all had Toshiba.

Apparently the 512gb SSD could be different and faster, any happy owner???

what color profile or instructions are you talking about

It is my understanding that Toshiba is actually the preferred model this time around.

BlackMagic uses incompressible data so that sounds like a Samsung SSD. SandForce doesn't like incompressible data.
In that case: awesome! Then I wonder if it is just a chip from Sandforce or if it is an actual controller from them.

Model: APPLE SSD SM256E

Samsung right?
Disk speed test peak values: 408 write, 450 read.

I'm pretty happy with that. Its screamin.

Have LG display, LP116WH4-TJA3

I have the Toshiba SSD, my first run on BlackMagic i got speeds of 360 Write, 460 Read. after i checked which brand SSD i had i started to get 240 Write and 440 Read. i know how stupid that sounds i know it is only a coincidence.

I also have the base 13"

Ive also experienced this slowdown from around 360 write to 230 after installing a few things, very strange.
