11" or 13"?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the 11"'s all have samsung on the 2011s?
Nope. There was no rule or pattern, some machines had Samsung and others had Toshiba.

He's just gathering data for the anandtech review.
BlackMagic uses incompressible data so that sounds like a Samsung SSD. SandForce doesn't like incompressible data.
11" 2.0GHz i7:
APPLE SSD SM256E
Purchased from a retail Apple Store.
I have the Toshiba in a base 13"
Same here. But my display is Samsung. DiskSpeedTest got about 220/440.
How do we check the display?
11". That's the only size notebook I will ever buy for myself.

Who cares why? It's still good info. AnandTech is a good source of info anyway. He had the most comprehensive review of the 2011 Airs.
Check for an LG Display with the MacBook Air
Using the same command to check the make and model of an LCD that works on past Macs, you can check the manufacturer of the display panel of the MacBook Air.
Launch the Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/)
Copy and paste the following command onto a single line and hit return:
ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6
Read the output, you are looking for an LP prefix to numbers reported back:
LP133WP1-TJA3
Color LCD
If the prefix is not LP then you have a Samsung display and theres no need to use the color profile or to follow the rest of the instructions, if it does start with LP (like the example shown), then proceed
BlackMagic uses incompressible data so that sounds like a Samsung SSD. SandForce doesn't like incompressible data.
what color profile or instructions are you talking about
128Gb Toshiba SSD, 360Mb/s write, 460Mb/s read.
How can you test the read/write speeds like everyone is posting here.
In that case: awesome! Then I wonder if it is just a chip from Sandforce or if it is an actual controller from them.BlackMagic uses incompressible data so that sounds like a Samsung SSD. SandForce doesn't like incompressible data.
I have the Toshiba SSD, my first run on BlackMagic i got speeds of 360 Write, 460 Read. after i checked which brand SSD i had i started to get 240 Write and 440 Read. i know how stupid that sounds i know it is only a coincidence.
I also have the base 13"
