I use the thin spigen cases. I like how they feel more then the iPhone material. It also balances the weight a little better. I like tossing my phones around and these devices look pretty ugly when scuffed.

Prior to taking delivery of my first iPhone 6 Plus, I had no idea I could double my money by reselling it new in the box. Suddenly it made sense to sell a few more. Therefore I've never used any of the three I bought and sold.

But that ended up not only making me a ton of money, but by then Bendgate had surfaced and I am really happy I didn't put one in service for me.

Three of my friends say the iPhone 6 Plus is more ding & scratch resistant than our 5S models of last year. Good news indeed. Using theirs without a case they've been just fine.

However the bugs and annoyances of iOS 8 have convinced me to wait till next year, by then in Apple's tradition, they'll be greatly improved. That's the one I'll buy.

Just give it a few months for ios 8.2/3 and yr apps to be updated

the coating on my screen has a few very hard to see scratches. I expected this to happen anyways, and it doesn't bother me like it use to. I use to freak out when this happened, and i can remember when i got my first iPod a few years ago, i literally cried when i got my first scratch on the chrome back :D side note: (i was 11 years old) I put a zagg glass on it and called it a day.

You may have a nice clean looking phone but you don't see it cause it's in that ugly case

I like the feel of iPhone 6+ naked can't argue with that. Personally, I like the feel of the iPhone 6+ in my case and with its tempered glass screen protector even better. I can grip it in my hands better and it doesn't get damaged as easily, had one drop without any problem :D

Apple's leather case is great and saved my 6+ once when I accidentally dropped it to the ground (from a low height nevertheless)

I got a pretty good indent in the lower part of the frame right around the speaker holes. I'm not one for cases and nicks on my iPhone have never bothered me but I do have to admit I'm pretty surprised on how easily it was to cause this blemish.

It slid out of my pocket while I was driving and fell in between the seat and the middle console of the car. That's all it took to scuff it up pretty good!

Anyone else with battle scares yet??

So, are you going to get a case?

----------

Yea but what's the point of having a nice clean looking phone if you can't even see it? Unless all you care about is resale value. But personally I prefer enjoying the functionality and aesthetics of the expensive products I buy (instead of the aesthetic of a $30-50 case)

Okay, how about this...when you're out just put a case on it. As simple as that.

I just figured that since this 6+ is so dang thin now, I might as well put a case on it... Because with a case it's just now about the thickness of my 5s naked anyway... I love having a phone that can have a case and remain thin!

No marks on mine. But my partners sister while I handed it to her dropped it on the edge of a wooden table and it then landed on a carpet. No damage.

I haven't dropped my phone for years. It's always someone else who damages my phones. But I can understand why she dropped it. It's just like the first iPhone. Slippery like a soap.

Just after I got my 6 plus, all of my friends wanted to see how it felt in their pockets. Obviously, at least one of them shoved it in a pocket with keys/change and now there is some light scuffing on the top of the screen. Barely noticeable but still a bit annoying. I may try the baking soda fix at some point but I'm a little worried that I'll remove the oleophobic coating.

You gave your phone to all your friends to jam into their pockets? Why would you do that? Sounds kind of strange to me.

As soon as I could I got a full Ghost Armor wrap on my iPhone 6, and I have a leather case (Spigen slim armor has been ordered).

To answer the OP's question, no battle scars. I'd rather have my very expensive phone look as good as possible. Its like my truck, I paid a lot of money for it, so I'd rather work towards not getting it dented, or scratched.

While scratches/dents may not bother the OP, it does me, so I avoid them at all costs :)

I never use cases on my phones anymore. They are tools meant to be used and abused. Sure it collects dings, dents and scratches (work is rough on it) but as long as it can do its job it's fine. I always have AC+ and never need to use it (just handed down my 5s without major damage).

My 5 did have a nice dent in the back but Apple replaced the phone due to the power button issue. Never had another dent.

Additionally the plus is already huge, adding a case makes it even more ridiculous in size.

The point of my phone is not to see it. It's not a watch. The point is for me to use it for my daily purposes. It's a phone.

Then please also understand that different people are free to use their phones however they wish. For some people, it may be as much be an aesthetically pleasing piece of engineering as much as it is a phone. Take me for example. I love how thin and light my iPhone 5s is and how the chamfered metal body feels in my hand when I hold it. I haven't used a case since my 4s (not even a screen protector) because I hate how each case makes my iPhone feel that much thicker and bulkier, and I am not using one on my 5s either for the exact same reason.

Will I use one with my 6s+ next year? Who knows, but I don't think my reasons are any less valid.

I don't want to use a case as I haven't in years, but the 6+ is just too slippery most of the time. Thought about putting some tape or something on it to help grip.

I am growing more fond of the leather case by the day though.
