ANyone with recently ordered 17"MBP having shipping delays?

It's Russia, Moscow, it don't matter which reseller I choose, they are all very similar. And, as I already said, it's not resellers problem, it's Apple problem that they don't ship it yet. I payed a lot -- 6K$, man! It's a very high price. I think, Apple just hates Russia, I have no other explanation of this situation...

PS: Not 5 months, but 3+ months, and the end of January was a time of pre-order, right after announce, but in any case it's so long...
 
Ordered it on April 30 and on May 6 it was prepared for shipment. Now May 7 it has been shipped. It's supposed to be arriving on May 11.
 
Just ordered a 17" CTO, 2.93GHz, Matte, 320GB 7200rpm.

Wheee, can't wait.
 
I'm from chattanooga, TN. When I first first read this I was worried that I would have to wait weeks before I recieved mine. Now I'm suprised that it only took a week and half.

Bought my Mac through a reseller. I have read up on the delay on a lot of forums, some blame going through a reseller, some blame the matte screen option or the processor. One way we can bide our time is maybe to post our order specifics and see if we can pass time guessing what's up.
If you haven't received your MBP, please post your order details and maybe we can narrow it down!
My reseller has called and emailed and followed through on everything and can't get an answer...he takes care of all my Macs so I know he's a great guy and is doing everything he can for me. They just keep telling him it's being processed and will ship soon.:confused:

My Macbook arrived at my reseller on May 7th and was custom configured for me, then sent overnight to me. i will have it Friday, May 8th.
I got the following note from my Mac Tech:
"The unexpected 3 week delay was caused by a combination of a factory parts shortage and then a firmware update unique to your model"
Perhaps this will clarify the situation for others. It seems they are catching up on orders now, so there shouldn't be so much of a wait for our unique configuration.
ZenoVT: I don't know what to say in your case, you have waited as long as I, and if I did not here something in the next 24 hours, I would get on with it and cancel. What part of the world are you in? I feel so sad for you, I know what you went through. Better days ahead!
 
Its good to hear a concrete explanation for the delay.

I have just recently ordered a uMBP 17" and these delays were making me rethink if I should have waited (hopefully my laptop comes in before the end of the school year so that I can make use of it)

Zeno, have you tried giving apple a call to see whats up with the delay for you?
 
Yeah I called, all they could say is that my particular order had delays on it. They do not know which configuration is causing the delay or when it will finally be shipped.
 
I am sorry to hear that many of you are waiting so long. I ordered on April 15 through the Canadian Apple Store (2.93 ghz, matte, 320gb 7200 rpm). It shipped the 20th from China and it was here the 23rd. I was quite surprised as I had read that matte may cause some delays.

I did order through ADC Select, maybe they move those to the front of the queue.

Woah that's quite crappy, anyway if it does come in June then if WWDC comes up with anything new I guess you can request for an upgrade. But that'll take longer.

I ordered mine with the same config yesterday, now its "Prepared to Ship".
 
I just went to the Apple store and the stock unit shows as shipping w/i 24 hours.

Selecting the anti glare option moves it to a 7 - 10 day shipping forecast.

No details, but I have read on other forums that a couple firmware updates recently caused more problems than resolving issues, in a way, I'm glad they held my book and got the problem worked out instead of me having to install firmware updates on my own, if you recently purchased a Macbook Pro I would check with apples site for firmware updates. (other sites have commented on a problem relating to repairing permissions and such, which was taken care of by my Mac Tech before shipping to me on my notebook).

It seems to me you should have heard something by now, it seems that a number of orders have just been processed and shipped. I would call and email once again and see what's up....hate to see you reorder and play the waiting game again.....I know how hard it is...I waited four weeks, I feel sad for you!:(

I suggest you call them up and clarify with them why is it taking so long. If you need the notebook eventually, I don't see why bother with the hassle of canceling it and placing another order. It's worth the wait. :D

did you call, email, or the was your page updated to get this information?
 
Ordered April 30 and was prepared for shipment on May 6. May 7 it left China and on May 8 it was delivered. I was suprised that it only took 1 week.
 
Mine just got shipped out! Ordered on the 7th. Coming on the 14th!

I ordered mines on the 4th and still "not yet shipped"
I'm trying to be patient and wait to see whats up because the 7-10 business days haven't fully passed yet, but yours is getting shipped already. I hope mines comes soon because I need it for school...

You sir, are getting scammed. Thats 5 months of AppleCare wasted.

Not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that I ordered it through ADC. Anyway its enroute! Wheee. That's about 3ish days from order to shipping, total of 7 days to expected day of receiving.
