The more expensive SS versions shouldn't get a lesser warranty when comparing to the lower cost versions of the Hermes.

The Space Black SS with SS Band is $1,100.00 and the Hermes are priced as follows $1,100.00; $1,250.00 and $1,500.00 So explain why the $1,100.00 SS shouldn't get the same warranty as the $1,100.00 Hermes or the $150.00 more version?

Well, the DLC-coated link bracelet is more expensive to manufacture so you're paying the premium for Hermes name on less costly leather bands as well as the longer warranty.

That doesn't justify anything. I doubt the mass produced SS bands cost that much more to manufacture than the hand made signature bands from Hermes made in their strap facility in France. If anything, the Leather Straps from Hermes cost more per unit to make.

FWIW, according to Apple's rhetoric:"Crafted from the same 316L stainless steel alloy as the case, the Link Bracelet has more than 100 components. The machining process is so precise, it takes nearly nine hours to cut the links for a single band. In part that’s because they aren’t simply a uniform size, but subtly increase in width as they approach the case. Once assembled, the links are brushed by hand to ensure that the texture follows the contours of the design."

I don't doubt the quality build of the apple SS band is top notch, but I still bet the cost of the SS band is a lot less than the Hermes Leather bands. The factory that makes the 9 hours worth of components most likely has hundreds of machines working and still has an assembly line of low wage employees bushing them by hand. Hermes has employees hand make the Hermes bands from scratch from start to finish and I'm sure they aren't paid a low wage, like those making apples SS band.

Either way, I still don't think the $1,100.00 SS Watch should get less treatment than the $1,100.00 Hermes when it comes to the warranty.

It's hard to say. Veblen goods, like those from Hermes, never really cost anything near what they cost to make.

Either, the better warranty is just a perk for the luxury buyers to add value and a sense of longevity, I'd imagine.

The funny thing is, most buyers of Hermes products likely won't even know about the warranty when they decide to purchase one. Yes it is a perk, but I don't think it's a deciding factor on a purchase.

Really no different from Edition buyers, most of who are wealthy enough to be able to afford a new Edition on a yearly basis, despite the two-year standard warranty.

I guess it's a perception thing. The Hermes is being positioned as a "luxury" Watch like the Edition.

I didn't realize it until I saw the standard terms and noticed my receipt. However, they still upcharge AppleCare+ from $69 to $99 and cover only the same 2 accidental damages that the regular AppleCare+ covers.
