Hey guys I have AT&T/directv and can’t watch my local football games. Cause of some stupid policy, is there anyway to show my location in a different area then I really am so I can watch my game? Or does anyone have any suggestions how I can watch my game on my phone?

Your location is determined by your GPS coordinates. The only way to change your coordinates IS change you location.

    Would a VPN do it?

This is easy to do on an Android device, but impossible to do on an iOS device without jailbreaking it.

This is probably something Apple does not understand why anybody would want to do, kind of like in the beginning Steve Jobs did not understand why anybody would want to block a phone call.

What about if Location Services was disabled? Wouldn't that force IP address geolocation instead of using the GPS?

You would think so. However, in my previous testing, it still didn't work. I don't know if it was due to something on the carrier side or what. Maybe someone else will have better results.

It can be done using a mac and an iPhone. No jailbreak required.

I haven't personally tried it on the most recent adidas confirmed drops (where you are required to be in 'the zone' and you spoof it accordingly) but it was definitely working for me still at the start of the summer.

Some apps require location services to be enabled.

That is true. And now that you bring this up, I am pretty sure Directv requires it to be on. I have Directv Now and it requires it.

I can't speak to sports games, but I use a VPN when traveling all over the world that connects me to my home internet. I've never had any issues. Most of the streaming services I use check your IP address NOT your location.

First off, I would like to know on which channel do you wish to watch football games? In which region are you residing? Which regions' football games you wish to watch? There are a lot of location spoofing apps available on iPhone like this: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/fake-gps-change-gps-location-share-fake-location/id1192952446?mt=8 See, accessing a website which is blocked in your region on your Apple device can be done with a VPN Service for iOS see the list here: https://www.reviewsdir.com/best-vpn-for-iphone/, but, in some cases, it only works if you have a valid cable subscription to that channel or service.

I looked at the "Fake" application you posted about.

But it seems to me it would not do what the original poster is asking about.

Any application in the App Store must adhere to Apple's standards, which means you cannot over ride the device's satellite connections for the purposes of making it appear you are somewhere you are not.

I have only seen a real GPS-spoofing application in the jailbreak applications.

It's done via your IP address. You need to have a US-based IP address to access those services.
