Last year, when I was a senior in high school, I took the AP Calculus AB exam and the AP Statistics exam. I got a 2 on the stats exam, so I didn't get any college credit (and us and our teacher just goofed off in class). But I got a 3 on the calculus one, so now I don't have to take any math in college. And I only got a 3.

I think the reason for this is because I go to Illinois State University, which is a less "prestigious" public school (but actually is improving with admissions requirements raising), but I should have gone to University of Illinois (I got a 33 on my ACT). University of Illinois denied me because of that stupid minority thing where they have to let a minority take my spot, even though he or she is less qualified. Sorry to any minorities on the MR, but that is total bull.

Anyways, I could go on for hours, but I'll just give you one hint for taking the AP exams: eat a huge breakfast with eggs, toast, bacon, ham, sausage, whatever you can get your mouth on. Eating breakfast really does affect how you think on these exams. I got a better score than some of my friends who studied much more and were much smarter than me.

Daniel.

That is exactly what my class and our teacher did (in Statistics).

And, ironically, that is exactly the grade I bet I received on that test...:D

Just finished my second AP test today!

I just finished my second AP test today; I took AP Statistics on Tuesday and AP World History today.

It seems AP Euro is a popular test. I havn't taken any yet in my life and probobly wont in any english, science or math but Im taking AP Euro history next year. Any advice on the tests? PS: Whats usual study regimen?

Be prepared to do lots of reading, writing and analyzing.

AP Classes are designed to be difficult, so don't be afraid to arise to the challenge.

i dont see why you all love AP tests so much. i took a bunch of them, did well, but my school doesnt take those credits in place of their classes so i didnt get out of anything. if you are a science major, you are still going to have to take that chem and bio class anyways. all of my friends are pissed about how the AP tests didnt help us with anything really b/c they only tend to get you out of easy classes if anything.

the AP chem test was such hell as i remember so good luck to everyone taking it. on the good note, the AP chem test has such a poor turnout that they will grade with a lil bit of mercy, it got me a 4 but i did work for it.

AP euro was difficult but workable and my AP us history test was easy.
check out what your school takes and plan accordingly. you may not get out of some classes but at least you have the credits with you to make sure you finish on time. good luck to all

practice by doing old tests, that helps alot! also, use wikipedia for a quick refresh if you cant remember something.

IF YOU ARE TAKING THE AP EURO TEST READ HERE:
make sure you know what the dryfus affair is b/c it was on every old test i practiced on and it was on my test. its key

lol dude im there with you on the affirmative action thing, its such crap. it doesnt work, its not fair, and its why i didnt get into princeton :p

oy vey the anticipation is really starting to build now, i just want to take this test and get it over with. I've taken all these practice tests and prep, but one always gets a little case of the jitters ;)

I guess I am the only one who didn't opt to be in AP classes, or pay for AP tests. My reasoning is purely a matter of principle. I am going to go to a technical college that does their credits different than "regular" colleges. It would have only been a status symbol if a did well, and I highly doubt I would have.

However, I certainly do look up to those smart students who take the tests, do well on them, and go and make a fortune after they finish their university studies.

As a word of advice to all you youngins, take an AP science course in high school if you're not planning on majoring in science in college. AP bio in high school is about ten times easier than any college lab science.

Sophomore Year
AP Human Geography...cake

Junior Year
AP English Lang...meh
AP Gov...not bad
AP Econ...not bad at all
AP Chemistry...difficult - but okay

Senior Year (Present)
AP Stat...disaster
AP Calc...disaster
AP Euro...bracing for a disaster :D

same projections here for me... i know we're not allowed to discuss the exact subject of the DBQ.. but jesus did THAT one come out of left field. i think i managed it enough though.. i could be anywhere from a high 3 to a low 5, but i'm figuring mid to low 4 range.

Bad. It was my third year of AP tests, and this one was definitely the worst. Ever. It was bad. :(

Funny thing about that...minors aren't permitted by law to enter into legally binding contracts without a parental cosignature. I'll have to do some research, but I think that it basically boils down to the College Board being a bunch of presumptuous pricks that think they have all the power in the world. It's amazing they havn't been sued as an illegal trust. (Pity THOSE weren't part of the...AGH!) *black helicopters swoop down*

dude that DBQ was rediculous. I never listened too much about women that were important, so all of those people like Abigail Adams and stuff, i might not even recognize their name let alone know what they did! They had so many questions about people on the MC, that was hard too. Oy vey, that DBQ... what regular essays did you do? I took 2 and 5.

I'm taking 4 this year myself (I'm a senior):

Calc AB
English Lit & Comp
European History
Physics B

As of right now, 3 down, 1 to go (Phys on Monday).

In the past, I've taken Biology and Chemistry. Got a 4 and a 5, respectively.
