ill post some screnies in a few minutes for all who are interested. i just have to update to 10.4.8 on my imac first.my aperture library is only on my imac right now, but i will have it on an external HD so i can access it from my macbook, hence why i am upgrading ;)

why is 10.4.8 taking forever to optimize? it didnt take long on my macbook.lol. thery changed a lot of the icons, it will take some getting used to

Aperture 1.5

Aperture 1.5 is making the validation pass on my Library to 'Prepare it for Upgrade' and it's been at it for quite a while. This is obviously a mammoth change to the Library. I have thousands of images and it is all backed up. I will let you know how it goes when, hopefully successfully finished.

I am using a Dual 2 GIG G5 with 3.5 GIGs RAM and 300 GIG drive.

im doing a complete backup, dont want to risk it. so far i like the new features.

this is when i wish i had a small library. like 5gb left to backyp

Also, it reprocesses the previews.

And the new sharpening algorithm is really good. I may not need to got oPhotoshop for Noise Ninja as much.

Aperture 1.5

OK, it finished the Library update now it is updating over 400 projects and each one seems to take about a minute. I wonder what next? Do you guys who are up and running have small Libraries or 8 Core Macs?
