Another week another Apple service outage. It's getting a bit pathetic now for the worlds richest company.
They seem to have no redundancies in place for anything, if they truly want to rely on services as their main income driver, they need to invest some of their billions in cash in backups. It does not show good quality.

I was watching Paramount+ on my TV during this whole ordeal. Also visited the music app and the app store during that time. I had noticed a reddit notification saying all was down. But I didn't see anything down. This has happened before, where Apple stuff is down, yet I don't experience it. Not complaining, it's just odd.

App store was down for me around 6 hours back. But now working fine. Apple system status page shows everything working alright now.

I don't like streaming music, films yeah but I still like 4K blu rays better. I want to own a physical copy, sounds better, and I don't end up sitting there with a limp iPhone in my hand looking embarrassed when asked for something hardcore by my partner when shes in the mood for that kind of music <ahem>

Of course they have redundancies. Not all outages are caused by a lack of redundancy.
I sort of agree. However, (to be slightly facetious), can you suggest a solution where redundancy wouldn't prevent an outage?
Surely, whatever you come up with I can just say well what if they had a fall back, (ie redundant component)?

Just as I try to activate a new iPad...
That is good morale why activation should be banned(when Find My is deactivated). When some crisis or disaster comes then device is useless brick. Android does it right and only verification is needed when device is tied to account and theft protection is enabled. Sideloading would be useful in this case too if Store is offline by cyberattacks or server failures.
