I agree, dumb name. Your naming is spot on!
Though, I do think there will be different specs.

Mainly screen size, battery, perhaps camera. As perfect as my iPhone 5S already is, I think it it could use more battery, screen real estate, and slightly better camera.

I like iPhone GIGANTOR6XLMEGA

I dont think two aspect ratios would be "great for developers"

Except if the 5.5" iPhone 6 has a resolution of 1536x1024 which would correspond to half the iPad screen. So layouts optimized for the 5.5" could also serve for split-screen multi-tasking on the iPad...

Besides, if developers have to take into account a new resolution while building their apps, the fact that the aspect ratio is slightly different doesn't change anything since the layouts have to be rethought anyway.

You guys have me LMAO....I had to sign up...Anyway...I pray this 5.5 is true...I cant wait to watch my Godfather trilogy on it LOL

Anyone talking about it being bad for developers doesn't seem to realize how much worse it is in Android land. Fragmentation is the #1 reason most developers start on iOS.

Never understood those ads as most of the iPhone users I know either have an external charger or a battery case like the Mophie or iBattz Mojo.

I have one of those. I buy one of the best-engineered, slimmest pieces of technology and then have to lug around a brick to keep it fed. It's stupid.

I'd much rather have a phone that's 1mm thicker but lasts all day and doesn't require me to bring almost the same size external battery with me all the time.

The Mophie and iBattz aren't bricks, besides you're buying a case for the thing aren't you? Now if you're talking about the USB external chargers, they too are pretty small these days. I'm not sure where you're getting the brick idea from, but latest external chargers are pretty slim and small nowadays. If you're using a Samsung, you're carrying extra batteries with you anyway.

Doubt it's real. Manufactured in March 2014? Even for an anonymous battery, I don't think Apple would risk leaks 7 months in advance. Especially if size and other specs could be inferred from it.

Who do you think allows the leaks of the real components to happen? Apple. It builds hype for the next iPhone. I don't think they care about an anonymous battery leaking.

Hey, so assume that the mythical iPhone 6L actually exist, where are the leaked cases typical to appear months before release?

I have friends that sell phone accessories, they have received tons of iPhone 6's cases in pre release, some with real case other just place holders for the new cases (I name both top brands and less know brands) absolutely none of them mention an iPhone 6L or whatever stock or place Holder for an alternative new iPhone than the 4.7 model.

So I really doubt that the iPhone 6L actually exists, if so Apple has no real plans to sell it soon since no accessory manufacturer has received clues or NDA on another product than the 4.7 " iPhone 6.

Yes, accessory manufacturers have received ndas. They just didn't share them with you. Because that's what an nda is.

Yes that's right but less know manufacturers which handles same information sourced from Pro Leakers (aka industrial spy) also didn't received yet none related to an 5.5 iDevice whatever it is.

I apologize, but I don't understand this sentence one bit.

All I can say, is that any of us that own Apple stock should be plenty glad that the company doesn't take advice from people on these forums.

I don’t think it can be called ‘iPad Nano’ because that would imply that it runs iPad apps. iPad Mini is the smallest screen size that can run iPad apps before the touch targets start to become too small. Rather than requiring a tailored version of their iPad apps, it’s much more likely that Apple would have the device run iPhone apps scaled up. (Not to mention, the new device will supposedly have the iPhone’s aspect ratio; not the iPad’s.) It’s possible they could call it the ‘iPad Nano’ but have it run iPhone apps, but that doesn’t seem likely either. Maybe ‘iPod Macro’?

Goodness gracious look at that huge 80 foot gap between the glass surface and the actual screen!

That is what I’m hoping for. I had an iPad Mini for a little while and found it a tad too big for a small tablet—and I like having a small smartphone as my always-with-me device, so a 5.5” iPod Touch would be great for my needs. Between 6” and 7” would be even better but I’ll take what I can get. I hope it’s a large iPod Touch since it would be cheaper and slimmer/lighter than a large iPhone, but I’m not putting my hopes too high—it seems like a lot of people would want it to have phone functionality as well, and it would be easy enough for Apple to comply and throw it in.

Wasn’t VaIO saying they should double the pixel resolution of the iPhone 4’s 3.5” screen?

You're the first person I ever heard saying the iPad mini was too large of a tablet

Looking forward to see if this possible larger iPhone will tempt me away from my Samsung Galaxy Note 3, though really will not mind if it doesn't as am very happy with the design and function of the GN3.
