He asked for people to tell him what to do. So that's what people did.
People's computer problems don't usually have anything to do with me, either, but I still give input and try to help when I can. This is no different.
To get the full student discount (FE) instead of HE (the links that you guys posted) you have to either order over the phone, order from your university network, or order through a loophole

Yeah agree 100%. Complete spoiled brat. He thinks he deserves "Great compensation" on top of a student discount because Apple had a system crash which is not the representative's fault? Wow. He deserves a 50% markup.
The best approach is to act extremely rude and furious on the phone because they are easily intimidated. Let them know that you'll never buy an Apple product again, and they will likely expedite the laptop of your choice free of charge as well as pay you $85,000 in annual compensation adjusted for cost of living. It works every time.

There are people on this site applauding their ability to get free stuff from Apple just because their orders have not shipped and are not due to ship. Or the ones getting free shipping upgrades when others paid just by calling.
If this guy wants to call and complain more power to him. If he gets something, time well spent.
If the Apple's site accepts orders so too should the dial in sales. PERIOD.
Apple is generally a standup company and will compensate consumers when wronged or even inconvenienced. All of you would avail yourselves of this if given the opportunity.
I don't really think people are mad...at least, I know I'm not. It's more just general annoyance at people thinking they're entitled to things that they really aren't, but I'm not mad at anyone. I just think some people tend to act like spoiled brats and think the world should bend over backwards for them. This person was very obviously looking to scam some free stuff from Apple, and posted about it in a public forum. That gives everyone here the right to give their opinions on the matter. When posting stuff like this, the OP deserves all the comments that get thrown at him.

Actually, no, I'm not being self-righteous. If I called Apple to place an order and they offered me something for some inconvenience (being put on hold forever, being hung up on, etc), sure, I'd probably accept it. Would I call them to complain about a non-existent problem in order to get something for free? No. Would I ask others what I should say so that I could try to convince the sales rep to give me something for free, even when I hadn't been inconvenienced at all? No. Call people self-righteous if you want...but don't assume you know how I would act in a specific situation.

You missed my point. I was convinced we had all of them at one time. I'm actually somewhat happy to see that self-entitled ***** are not exclusively "American".
