I'm glad that our European friends can take advantage of a promotion like this as well now. I always thought it was a bit unfair that only the US has been given prior opportunities like this. Share the wealth and success! :)

If memory serves the whole (iTunes) world was given access to previous opportunities like this.
It's just that the winners predominently came from the US

Well I don't know whether the last counter promo was based on the US store only, but the US people can't be in on this one unless they have a european credit card!
My impression is that this one is really europe only.:D

Possibly, yes, however I guess what I was thinking was that for the earlier promotions, those countries outside of the US didn't have access to iTMS yet. ;)

Hey Steve, if you really wanted to play nice, how about instead of a prize that one person wins - give a free song of the day on all European stores, like in the US?

(Unless of course I win this promotion, in which case, just ignore this message. It. Never. Happened.:p )

Apple should give the prizes to ME, even if I'm not in Europe. After all, I bought songs less than 2 minutes before and less than 2 minutes after the 500 millionth song in their big U.S. promotion in July so I was simply a victim of bad-luck timing. Therefore, compensating me with a 10,000-song gift card is the least they can do. If they want to give one to a European too, I have no objection.

There is no counter...thats not fair. We need a counter so that we can atleast have a rough idea when we are going to win.

Yeah, those were my thoughts - then you could actually get something of value out of them... ;)

I'd trade-in all of the other prizes for the opportunity to give Robbie Williams a lethal injection.

When I think of why I hate the cult of celebrity, I see Williams' evil grin. He is the apotheosis of all that is wrong with our culture.

Very well said. A pompous, arrogant individual who just cares about money, not the music. You know, several years ago, even though I still didn't like him, I at least had to give credit where credit was due and admit he actually had a decent voice - because he did, he could sing a lot better than lot of other artists out there, like it or not. But now, it's as if his voice has gone to s@#$ as well, and he just doesn't care anymore.

Anyway, I suppose this is getting off topic... ;)

Fantastic opera...

The 100 millionth download in Europe was album "Die Zauberflöte" by Mozart, downloaded by grand prize winner Ken Reist from Steenokkerzeel, Belgium at 6.22 pm on December 6th.

Of course there are many different versions, and not all of them are commendable. I wonder which version of Mozart's Magic Flute he bought?

As for those Robbie tickets, I can see them up for sale on eBay shortly :)
