That is no good. :(

It's a common issue with all the 2008 2.53GHz 15" MacBook Pro. I suggest to go back to the apple store and tell them. You might probably get one of the speed bumped MacBook Pro 2009.

Well this is a brand new UMBP 17" and its actually the second one with the same blueish screen, the first one i send it back because of a dead pixel, and it its practically the same...so it might be a common problem fixable with some calibration, but i dont want to mess with that, has somebody had the same problem? or "issue"?

Has somebody had the same problem? or "issue"?

I used to have this problem (october 2008) with my ex-old 2.53GHz 15" MacBook Pro so i went to the Apple store and they fully refunded me. With the money, i bought this 2.93GHz 15" MacBook Pro 1 month ago and never had this blue problem.

What is it you prefer about those displays?
Very accurate colors, uniform backlight, no reflections. May be, it's just the matter of taste since i've been working with those for a while. Anyway, it's worth considering if you are planning to spend around 800$ on a display.
Moreover, i do understand why i pay extra in the case of Apple laptop, but the screens are definitely overpriced.

I have the 30 inch display calibrated with Gregtag Eye One color match and the difference I see on the laptop is not that it is blue or cyan it looks to be at 6500 kelvin and not 6000 kelvin the 30 inch is profiled too. Looks like the answer is lowering the kelvin temp on the MBP which 6500 kelvin is cooler in tone over 6k.
