Can't wait to start using some iOS4 features on my iPod Touch. :p

I'd love some of the guys who give a 'Negative Vote' on here sometimes to explain why...

I expect that come June 21st and 24th there will be plenty of people with iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4s running iOS 4 on them, but I wouldn't expect that many of people's existing apps to support multitasking or even work right on an iOS 4 device simply because it is my understanding that all apps must be updated for them to incorporate multitasking. Unlike 3.0, this is a massive overhaul and effects every app available. Hopefully many developers have been working on these changes since the April introduction of the 4.0 beta sdk.

My top two wishes, update TomTom and Navigon. TomTom crashes every time when you enter an address under iOS4 making it nearly useless. Navigon has problems when using panorama 3D. Hope the updates are available before 21st...

iOS… Good name change that reflects its broader application.

Now what about iTunes? It's been a long time since all iTunes did was play music.

"licensing" is just something for lawyers.

"IOS" is a network switch operating system. To avoid ambiguity, I'll use "iPOS" for phone OS systems.

Whether you like it or not the name has changed. Eg Rhodesia>Zimbabwe
Ceylon>Sri Lanka.

I am going to make a new app called "iBuy and iComplain".

It will tint the screen a yellowish hue, and also put what looks like little dust particles on the screen.

I can't wait to have folders. That for me is way more important than multitasking.

I assume you are trying to be clever. Instead I find your posts to be tedious. Enough already.

Well IPOS is a motion control program for SEW drives in Automation... That doesn't avoid ambiguity at all!!!

Don't be pedantic, everyone else manages to grasp the concept of this particular thread...

Well , ive got 2 iPod Touches 1G , and iPhone 3G
I dont want to upgrade something , because ive got good cellphone from Nokia.
I dont know what to do :D
Maybe - iPad?

How is the iPad opposed to run all these new and updated apps If it doesn't get the 4.0 update at the same time? It wouldn't be able to handle the "over 1500" new API's. Would apple really cripple the iPad like that this early?

I wonder if they will appear in the App store before iOS4 launches?

There are already OS4 apps in the app store - one example is Flight Tracker, an update released Monday had support for in-app SMS and the calendar APIs.

The short answer is your app knows if it is running on IOS3 and doesn't make those api calls. Or as my teacher would say, its magic...
