I registered today just to complain about this

I ordered my iMac (my very 1st mac) the day leopard was released. I spent my iLife savings on it and the freezing is so bad I can't even get the dock to load most of the time. I zap the pram like tech support tells me and still I get terrible freezing and psychedelic artifacts. The update has done nothing. If I do get it working, I can't be away from my mac long enough for the screen saver to come up because it'll freeze.

This is just frustration:

My mac came with Tiger installed (cd included) and a Leopard CD. Had a terrible time installing Leopard. Tech support had me erase everything and re-install Leopard. Lost all of iLife with the erase and didn't know how to retrieve it. Called tech support again and explained what happened they told me to buy iLife because iMacs only come with trial versions of iLife and he didn't know where to get a trial version. The apple site says iLife is included. The full and permanent version, not a trial. When I demanded a solution that didn't require me buying iLife, I got silence. Then he hung up on me. I called tech support again and got the same answer. I asked him to go to the apple store in the iMac section and read the part where it says iLife comes with all iMacs. He read it and asked me to insert the Tiger disc and install iLife only. Problem fixed. Too bad I can't use iLife.

I know this has been asked, but is anyone getting replacements for their piece of junk imacs?

According to some people on this site you would be classified as a "whiner" because you have a problem that Apple refuses to fix. I had the same problem and through persistent, but pleasant, contact with AppleCare, have managed to arrange my iMac to be fixed (new logic board/video card). I don't know if that will actually fix the problem but I am hoping it will. Be persistent and pleasant (regardless of how much they can irritate you) and good luck.

This is getting to be a job...

Hold on flopticalcube...okay...I'm hacking....still hacking...I'm in your harddrive. Yeah, I see the problem now. Your motherboard is a mess. And your fatherboard's not too pretty either!

Without a doubt, you'll have a MUCH better experience bringing the iMac, box and all, (leave mouse at home) to a nearby Apple Store, and let the tech geniuses witness the problem first hand. This is how you get a full motherboard/graphics card/powersupply relacement. Once they agree to do replace everything, under your warranty, request that the graphics card be a full ATI Radeon 2600 XT, not PRO model, or the NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT with 256MB of GDDR3. This ought to solve your dilemma entirely.

This is most unfair, and unacceptable. As advertised, you should have received a copy of iLife 08 with your purchase. If this is situation is too complex and bothersome to remedy, may I suggest a torrent download of the suite, since, indeed, you have paid for it.
