Ha ha ha. We want to help as many people as we can. Just not Android (any more) $$$$
I use it. It’s meh. It used to be better than meh. For some reason it’s now rather flaky. It’s part of my “which 3 apps agree” apps.
Surprised Apple didn't rip off the idea then booted the original app from app store like they've done done in the past. Good for dev.
I find similar results. Its because this site shows weather data from a station 15 miles to my west.Weather Forecast and Weather Forecast Accuracy for Your City
5-day weather forecasts for the United States in a nice, easy to read format, AND the 1- to 3-day out accuracy of other weather forecasters (Accuweather, The Weather Channel, MyForecast.com, Intellicast, and the National Weather Service) including links to their forecasts.www.forecastadvisor.com
You can go to this site and enter your zip code to compare the accuracy of the various weather providers. For my zip in California Dark Sky does not do so well. Might be better where you live.

Weather is one thing, it doesn’t even have a calculator app..
Why isn't it now FREE? I'm not paying for it so refuse to use it. Sucks to be you, Apple.
Great... They bought the most overhyped weather app on the App Store.
"known for its accuracy"
Sorry. I can't catch my breath from laughing so much.
edit: Keep giving those thumbsdown. Each person below that did has bought in to the Dark Sky marketing. Neither your phone or their API can give you a real-time hyperlocal forecast.
Worked for me wonderfully in London, the rest of UK, and NYC. For many years. Each person below that did has bought in to the Dark Sky marketing. Neither your phone or their API can give you a real-time hyperlocal forecast.
Maybe 'cause your anecdotal experience is different than the next persons?Totally with you. I was fed up with Accuweather so I tried DarkSky among others. Every single app I tried showed "snowing" (correct). DarkSky: Currently foggy(?)
Sorry, but if DarkSky can't figure out my CURRENT conditions correctly, how do people believe their forecasts?

I never would've expected this. This must be an acqui-hire for sure. The devs are talented for sure and Apple loves bringing on talented folks across the industry...
I’ve used that site for many months as well and Dark Sky has always been in 4th. place for my area (AZ). As an example, yesterday was a beautiful day with not a cloud in the sky and temps in the upper 70’s but got an alert from Dark Sky during the day that there will be possible drizzle in 5 minutes lasting 7 minutes.Weather Forecast and Weather Forecast Accuracy for Your City

So are they saying that darksky.net will only be accessible for those iOS app users?
I would like to know the backstory on why DarkSky sold out to Apple.
I literally paid for the Android version last week.
This is what pisses me off. I'm OK with Apple owning stuff. I'm hugely against the fact that literally the first thing they do after acquiring an app is to discontinue any version that runs on something not made by Apple.
Would it really hurt Apple to keep an Android version around and charge a fee for it? Wouldn't it make more sense (and even bring in more profit) to simply say "Free for iOS users; Android users pay $1.99/month" or something? I know this would produce its own rage posts, but it'd be better than just saying "screw you, Android". Another option would be just making it the "default" Weather app on iOS and even calling it Weather, but maintaining it on Android as Dark Sky (with accompanying purchase costs).
