Unacceptable for a display that's ridiculously overpriced compared to others and marketed as a "premium" device.

Unacceptable that a tiny minority of people have been suffering issues, issues which have been addressed by Apple? Care to name any other consumer electronic product with a 100% no issue rate.

For the record, no issue with them in the studio at all, great monitors.

Anyone know where I could grab that mountain landscape picture for my background? Its pretty nice

This isn't Missouri

Another example of spewing garbage as fact, and seeing if it sticks. Show me a monitor that offers the same features and image quality for less money.

If you're making the claim about features and quality, then shouldn't you prove that Apple's monitors can't be matched at Apple's price point?

Although, I'm not sure how you'd quantify the value of "yellow tint" that seems to plague some of Apple's monitors.

Actually, no. If someone claims that Apple's Cinema Display is overpriced, it's up to them to show a better value. Show me something that provides the features and image quality to compare for less than the $999 price point.

Can anyone confirm/deny if the new MBAs play nice with the 27" cinema displays?

I have a 27 ACD connected to a 13" 2010 MBA, if by play nice you mean they don't experience the sound problem, they don't... in two weeks of ownership I have had to power cycle the acd twice... even with sound output via display port (not usb)... havent installed this update yet... waiting for more feedback...

Leaving that issue apart, the display image quality is unpar, the display's 27", integrated isight camera and, yes, the 2.1 subwoffer sound, docks beautifully with the new mba's... effectively converts them to a desktop replacement... they play nice in every other way but this sound issue which i hope apple will get right sooner than later... is clear they're pretty aware and working on it...

It's expensive and marketed as premium, but where can you get 2560x1440 displays for much less than $950 for the 27" ACD on education discount? 16:10 2560x1600 displays are at least as expensive, they start at $1150 at Newegg.

Not defending these severe product flaws.

My display worked fine for about a week, then the audio problem surfaced suddenly.

The firmware update didn't fix my display; actually, it's getting worse.

When I'm running Windows 7, I've been able to resolve the problem by using the audio signal that is supposedly routed through the display port. It's an option in the audio settings. Using the USB signal makes the problem return instantly. While running Snow Leopard, the problem is constant.

i'd probably call apple i think the fix worked for the majority of the people:/

Buying a new monitor...should I buy 27" Cinema or something else?

If I am thinking about buying the 27" monitor, does anyone know of a cheaper but equal monitor that could be used with my new MBP? If not, I will spend the money. I am guessing those who really follow this issue will have a great answer for me. This forum is awesome!
