I think you missed the point. To download and install the update, you must use your current Apple ID and current password. However, by doing that, the verification does not work because it is now trying to verify against your Apple ID and original password that was use to activate the iPad during its initial setup.

Thus, this is not an user error, but a software OS problem. A little more empathy and understanding please.
Now that explains clearly why mine went through. I have 2fa setup with a complex password that hasn't been ever changed.

And what about the iOS 9.3 bug that bricks Safari and Mail? As soon as you click a link, the whole OS freezes.

I fixed it with Apple ID family sharing. Now all of my Apple IDs are linked, and I have access to all my old content from the IDs I no longer use anymore.

1. You must use the Mail app not iTunes to setup
2. It requires more than one device
3. You can't share music on Apple TV

His job as CEO was not to write code.
But you knew that.
His job was to make sure that something like the last five years
of wretched hardware and software disasters didn't happen.
Apple's incompetence of late is just stunning.

Plain and clear!

237 seems to be the newer updated build.
OK but how do I determine which build the new update is?

In software update I have a 9.3 update @197MB. But I don't know how to tell if this is the 237 build. How do I tell?

If you have and update showing up to be downloaded and installed then you don't have the latest update. Apple isn't offering an older update for install any longer, so whatever you would get from Apple would be the latest offered update.

OK thanks.

Guess I'll go for it. :p

So you will keep using your iPad 2 with 512MB of RAM because the 9.7" iPad Pro has only 2048MB of RAM ??

Hmmmm. It would still be a hell of an upgrade going from iPad 2 to 9.7" iPad Pro. Not only is it faster... it already has 4 times the RAM you currently have.

And the 9.7" iPad Pro might never get 4GB of RAM. Are you prepared to wait forever?
it should get 3 gb next year

it should get 3 gb next year
Should?

The iPad Air 2 had 2GB of RAM. So does the 9.7" iPad Pro.

There's no pattern that suggests the next update to the 9.7" iPad Pro will increase to 3GB of RAM next year.

But now I know your minimum is 3072MB of RAM... let's hope your dreams come true ;)

I'm not sure I'd stick with an iPad 2 with 512MB of RAM for another year though.

if they want to keep selling ipads, 2 GB will not be enough for much longer
